Hey guys,
I need some help and some information in choosing where to go, and some info during that time
From Canada, is february 17-18 to 24-25th a cheap time to go to either one? Should I book now, Mexico is around $1k all inclusive and around $700-$800 for Vegas, or do you suppose I can catch some last minute deals around that time?
What is the temperature like at both locations?
Where should I go? Going with my Girlfriend, we are both in University and I know that Vegas we would be going to shows and probably shopping and mexico to relax and drink and swim etc. Cant decide the better of two.. the weather might play a key factor though
USD is equal to CDN right now so it's much cheaper to go to the states or mexico rather than to somewhere in Canada
Thx!

I would go to vegas. Its going to be much easier, safer, cheaper and its something you have to do at least once anyways.

I completely agree that mexico is not the place you want to goto right now. The confrontations between the Mexican government and the drug cartels is pretty gruesome. I think vegas is a much safer and youll probably have more fun there imo anyways

Well, MetalMarine, the drug war is in the north... The beaches are in the south/center. Please don't make ignorant posts about the "current situation" because there's no way for you to judge on Mexico from what you see on the media.
_KiM_: I suggest that if you go to Mexico, do some research on the place you're going, there are certain places you don't wannna be in, but not every sigle part of Mexico is like Monterrey. For example, if you're going to Acapulco, you have to know where in Acapulco to stay.
As for the weather here, check the weather forecast beforehand. While it's normally pretty hot in the beaches, you never know when you'll get a rainy day.

I'd still advise him to go to Vegas anyways

If you do go to vegas, check out all of the hotels on the strip. Don't get caught up in the little trinkets they sell... waaaaaay overpriced. Just walking around a place like the Aladdin is a lot of fun.

i think it's important to know how old you and your girlfriend are, as if you are under 21 las vegas won't be very fun at all. I would recommend Mexico, something like puerto vallarta is really nice :D

Not true imo. I went last summer (18 years old) with my family and I had a good time. There's a lot of shows at the different hotels on the strip, plus there's an outlet mall about 10-20 minutes from the strip. There's also a fairly inexpensive bus service where an all day pass is like 5-7 dollars I think.
The weather when I went (mid August) wasn't too bad. It was quite warm, but not humid at all so I didn't mind it.
