Hello Teamliquid!
I have used my name WarChimp for awhile now, probably a good 5 years at least. I have used it in StarCraft BW, StarCraft 2, World of WarCraft (Yes I played that) and basically any other online game Basically my name started when my friend decided to use to name warox, I thought that was kind of cool so I improved it to WarChimp.
Anyway, it doesn't really matter how it came to be, but at this present time, I need your help to help win an argument. The argument is that, is WarChimp is a good avatar name? My friend however, she believes that WarChimp is a lame avatar name.
So my Teamliquid friends, I need to know, is WarChimp a lame name?

My friends name was warox. In that name I saw WarOx, I thought that I could improved that and thought that a Chimp of War was kind of cool, so I got WarChimp.

Its hard to think of a good one. So steal a name from somewhere. Pick a character from an obscure fantasy novel with a cool name.

Unfortunately you didn't really outline the reasons why you think your online name isn't lame. You only gave a brief history of its origins, and hence I am not surprised that you are having this argument with your friend in the first place.

It's better than WarMonkey but worse than WarTuna or WarWalrus
edit: the WarBonobo suggestion two posts above me is pretty good too.

Yeah it's pretty lame. But losing to someone whose name was "WarChimp" would make me rage at least 2 or 3x as hard as a normal loss. So maybe it's good for something.

It's actually a fine name, but this one time a gamer with that handle went onto a forums to ask if it was cool which is obviously a pretty lame thing to do, so I don't think you should use it... Oh shit, it was you.

In my opinion WarChimps is no worse than other animal-related names with "War" appended to the front.
WarDog? WarCat? WarOstrich? WarPlatypus? WarKookabura? WarAye-Aye? hWarangdo? Okay that last one's not even remotely related to the others but you get the point.

Monkeys are silly. Adding 'War' as a prefix doesn't make it any more intimidating. You might be the baddest, most awesome chimpanzee in the world, but you're still hanging from a branch flinging your own poo at your enemies.

If you want to stay with the animal theme, I find that SAT word + animal is a good convention. My name in LoL is Hyperbolemur.
