Here in Berkeley we get a week off before the final, dubbed the RRR(rest, reading, recitation) week, we are suppose to use this week to study in preparation for the exam.
I only have 2 finals to study for, which is fortunate, and a project for the compiler class.
My 2 finals will be on CS174 Probability and Randomized Algorithms Math142 Algebraic Topology
I have a detailed study plan over the next week, hopefully I can finish through. I need fairly good grades on the finals to get good grades in the class (I've been doing mediocre but the final is worth 50% so It's a big shot).
I'll keep you all informed with my daily activities.
Today I went over probabilistic methods for probability Today I went over constructing the fundamental groups, and the path lifting theorem for topology.
How about you guys?

currently studying for my probability final, which is in ~5.5 hours I am just trying not to fail the class >__>
|
We at the UW do not have a dead week. For me I have my thesis to turn in which is a whole different type of hell.
|
Finished my finals on Tuesday and relaxed the whole day! =)
|
I wish i had a week to chill out... exam after exam after exam...
|
I wish we had that week off at Michigan.
I just had 3 exams this week. Our last day of class is the 13th, and then finals start immediately after that. I have 2 finals on the 15th and one on the 16th, so barely any time to prepare for them
|
4 finals next week. I perform well on tests usually and I can basically get a 0 on all my finals and still pass.
I just finished a bunch of assignments, which was the real stress time for me.
|
I go to UW and I have 3 tests/quizzes and one paper to write this week. Then I have two finals next Monday and Wednesday (which could be worse). Be grateful for your week off, sir.

finals next week, but i spent today catching up on all the online quizzes i'm supposed to do after reading each chapter
had to take around 8 quizzes today and they were about 1 hour each and each chapter took about 25 minutes to read so today sucked.
really bad.

My very last undergrad final in <4h, I'M EXCITED!
|
GLHF man, I'm having finals too!.
|
Rawrrrr History final in about 5 hours!
I should study instead of watching the GSL break and posting on TL... oh well.
|
Yay a final in 8 hours and completely unprepared. Here at ut austin we spend our week(4-5 days) before finals drinking every day.
|
|
GLHF in studying and to everyone who's having finals! Good thing my finals are long over....
|
haha we were supposed to have class this wednesday, the last official day of classes for the term, but due to snowstorms (and London getting i think at least 60cm of snow..) classes got cancelled for the week! and so basically we got a week off before exams ^^;;
i'm jealous so many people finished so early.. I don't finish until the 17th T_T
|
That's actually really smart of Berkely. A week off before finals sounds awesome. Our semesters are like 14 weeks long + finals week, and you know how they always end up?
Week 13 - Last exam in our class. It's usually exam 3 since almost every professor gives us just 3 exams the whole semester. Also throw in any research papers if any were assigned. Week 14 - Professor crams in one more chapter for us to study. Week 15 - Final exams encompassing everything including that last chapter studied in Week 14.
It's total bullshit.
I only have one final this semester though. It's an online final too. The professor just gives us questions and we have 24 hours to answer them without being monitored. Best part is I don't even have to leave my home to do it.

Only 2 finals? You're a happy camper. I've got 4 finals over 2 days, six days from now. I'd consider studying during the year to avoid this end-of-semester cramming, but then where would the challenge be

Even if you study throughout the year, you're going to have to go back and study the stuff you learned early on. At least, that's how it works for me. I usually remember the stuff towards the end, but the stuff towards the beginning starts to get fuzzy if I don't cram some studying of that period.
|
haha yeah definitely gets fuzzy toward the end.
Did some classification of fundimental groups today, and some markov chains woo!!
|
CS 4830 - Cryptography CS 6820 - Analysis of Algorithms CS 5814 - Decision Theory
difficulty level: wtfbbq hard Impossibly hard hard
|
I wish I was still in school... I miss those markov chains
|
Listen to this schedule for Saturday for me..
1030am-1pm Business Operations exam (my hardest class..) 2pm-4pm CSL games, playing a 2400 T while I haven't myself played since the last CSL matches.. 5pm-9pm Religion & Philosophy exam (2 essays, 30 short answer)
I'm sure it'll be a completely restful day for me.. ha.

Just finished today.
And yet I'm waiting for my friends at Cal so we can hang out.
|
mm good day today. Did some solid probability '(more probablistic method, I'll write a blog to teach you guys some basic tricks, it's really neat). Cooked squash pancakes with gf for dinner, couldn't finish, made too much. It's good!! So easy to make, I should blog a guide soon... hmm
I wish winter break is sooner!! Well! 6 more days! ^^
|
Damn lol, I thought to start today's studying with an hour of sc! Lost twice in a row in the most silly ways Should study now ^^
|
Done with math!!! Only probability left... cmon !!
|
I go to Cal too. Unfortunately, my RRR week was absolute shit because I had a paper for my group project for bioe102 (biomechanics) due last friday (poster presentation was on thursday) so all my time was spent focusing on that. I had the exam on Monday, which was really hard and then an obscenely difficult final for mcb c100a (biophysical chemistry) today. My last midterm is e45 on Friday, which I expect to be somewhere in between these two midterms in terms of difficulty.

i just had my stats exam this morning. It was fucking hell. first of all, my prof isn't really the greatest. second, ggpwn exam full of questions he has NEVER taught before. I even went through the textbook to do some practice problems and still got raped. Needed a 90+ to end up with an 80 in the course, guess that's not possible now

Which stats are you taking. Man I'm just hoping I don't get an F.. it will destroy my gpa but I only knew like 5-6 out of 26 questions. And I didn't really do that well in other classes either except my programming class. Sigh..I think im gonna be put on academic probation next semester.

dude marine23 I remember you somewhere, we used to play on USwest no?
Anyways I'm done today, yay!! could've done a bit better on probability, oh well, I learned the material in a solid way, so hopefully that matters
|
Hahah, I had hell because I had four final projects due on the same week after a start of three weeks... didn't even have a week per project >_<
*hi-fives bouncy
Yay for being finished though.

We get a single day at University of Illinois @U-C, called reading day, here (I think I went out drinking that day.) However, there is only one more day of finals here (my last one is tomorrow at 7:00 pm). I've been at the library for 7~ hours studying / listening to bad music - economic essay exams are scary, merely because they are hard to predict what they will be concentrating on. I can't wait to feel sane again (read: get trashed) List of exams for fun's sake. + Show Spoiler +Optional Finance exam - Corporate finance - Accepted my B and realized I probably couldn't bring my grade up by taking it. Health Economics - open notes but I was lost in class (read, asleep) - Taken, didn't do too badly on it, though depends on friendliness of the grader ( the grader was VERY friendly last time) MacroEconomic policy theory - open notes math exam. Yeah. Wasn't hard Business location decision theory - stupid class stupid exam. International Economics - this will be my hardest exam. Hopign i get one of those miracle brain bursts during my exam
