This isn't my original idea but I've decided to see if anyone wants to play along anyways since the og is kinda dead/not enough players.
Basically how it works, is we each get 1000 bucks to start and we can make bets based on SC2 games, events, happenings, specific things, whatever.
Rules:
(subject to changes)
- All transactions must be made in this thread and if you are taking a bet from someone you must quote their post. Likewise, quote the original bettor should quote the acceptors post.
- At the end of the posts you must type 'your name - total points left'.
- Propositions must be in the form of Amount you wager:Amount opponent wagers, Which thing you are betting on>Which thing opponent is betting on. Please Bold your props and your total at the end of the post for clarity.
- A person can take a piece of your bet if they don't like the size of it, leaving room for others to take the rest. The original bettor is allowed to accept or deny these. Once a bet is made/accepted, they can not be retracted.
- Be specific as possible so there is no confusion after a bet who won. If an agreement can not be reached we will hold an anonymous poll to decide who wins. In the event of a draw, the bet is voided.
- To prevent cheating, you must have over 500 posts or 6 months active account on TL to participate. (sorry newcomers)
- No giving away points either.
I was going to wait until next season of GSL to start this thread but I guess it doesn't really matter.
Examples of propositions:
200:100 JP doesn't say 'thank you' in the next SOTG podcast.
100:100 Boxer>Nada GSL Quarter Final
500:500 Blizzard makes chat rooms before 2011.
321:321 Root does the best overall at MLG Dallas.
BobCostas - 1000
etc.
Example of an accepted bet:

Maybe some software would make this a lot more fun? Don't know how you could possibly make detecting winners for silly shit (player X doesn't make unit Y in match Z etc.) other than manual review of every bet.

Well they need 32 S-class players and with repeat ro8 players. Extra spots have opened up, the highest ranked players that did not make ro8 can still get s-class.
