Hey there,
one of my friends is in a sticky situation atm.
He asked me for advice and I am just following one of the important rules in life here: You have problem in reallife? Ask advice on the internet....
That being said, here is the story:
My friend (we might call him "Görlitz" here) is a fan of the awesome band DOWN and he is trying to see as many concerts as possible. Last year for example he took a flight to NY (from Germany that is) just to see a gig there. He then drove on to Philly and from there to Boston for to additional shows.
Well, so far this has nothing to do with tha current problem...
Like most people, Görlitz likes to waste some time with facebook, writing msgs to hot chicks that like DOWN and/or are from New Orleans. Uhh, getting interesting now....
When we met in his room to learn for an exame, he checked his mails first and suprise suprise, one of the chicks answered and offered him a crash in New Orleans and to go out and have some/many drinks. I started joking that he should just buy a ticket and fly over there. Instead of learning too too much this afternoon, we were scrolling through prices for flights from Germany to NO.
We actually found a great offer that he actually would be willing to pay.
So you now might think, w00t, why is he not just getting on the plain, listen to DOWN for a week while being drunk and heving sex.... You might well ask, here is the answer:
The problem is, he is not a SC nerd like we are, so he actually has a girlfriend. (If you dont know girlfriend, google it..) She likes DOWN as well and she also likes to travel so she might want to go with him if he just tells her that he wants to go to NO... You might notice, that Görlitz isnt supposed to tell her this story or he would be in some trouble here. For those who dont know about girlfriends, what would basically happen is simmilar to the pron you might know which is called '*** cheating her boyfriend'. You might google this as well.... 
What I am now here for are two things:
1.) I want to ask you, should he buy a ticket and fly to NO? (Poll)

How old is this girl..? If she's young, just lie to her. If she's older, they know better so you need to be more sneaky and creative; lying works.
You could always just lie to her too.
Seriously though, the best way is to say you are going with the boys/some place she wouldn't want to go; as all men do when they are getting away from the wife, simply call her everyday and .. lie.
Is this morally right? OFC not. Is your question? OFC not. Do I have a girlfriend? OFC not. Did I have a girlfriend that I lied to and got away with for a couple years, yes... But it catches up and, well, I am sitting at a computer at 3AM jerking off to asian teens. So, that can just show you how well lying pays off.

Bad idea. For one he doesn't know the girl outside of FB. If she flakes, he's in New Orleans by himself. Also, she could turn out to be fat/psycho etc. What you see online is not what you get IRL. That's part of the beauty of it, you can fill in the missing gaps yourself and look forward to an awesome week! When in reality he could get hurt. He can also hurt someone he loves with his stupid actions. If you don't know what that is, google it. Why is he even looking for other girls on FB? As for putting aside school work, his future plans etc. it's his decision to make. Though if he was half a man he would break it off with his girlfriend first. Should have probably done it already.

He needs to consider the consequences of his actions. If he ends up hurting someone he might regret what he has done and it might wear him down. If he is a normal human with values and a soul. Then again, he can be a shallow shell looking to score, in that case I wish his g/f the best of luck in her future and hope she can find a healthy guy in her future.

I liked the first reply to this blog. Anyways, TL is stil the best forum I know about. I am not very familiar with blogs at all, because I do not use this feature too often.
The actual thing I like about TL (grown up people with nice posts and real oppinions) made this blog fail I think. Should have pointed out that I wasnt too serious in the OP but maybe then the blog would have lost its purpose anyways.

When I first read the OP I was already hoping for someone eloquent to post to set his head straight. For me neither some band nor sex is attractive enough to spend a large amount of money, time and nerves. I'm just a happy, monogame nerd.
You are wondering why I bother posting then? Well, I'm currently on a speed run to write a paper about Callisthenes and Alexander the Great which I have to hand in tomorrow. Rather unfortunate, because my major is geography and my latin really sucks, I can't speak greek and I don't care that much about this topic...

Actually I myself am in a long term relationship and wouldnt even think about doing something like this.

I started the post before the edit came through but I still don't see in the original post where cheating on his gf wasn't an actual option. And if this is a thread about posting fun stories about people getting out of sticky situations regarding girlfriends/friends/family/cops, then I don't think you set it up very good. It's more confusing than anything.
I mean, don't get me wrong, I now somewhat understand what you were going for, and I don't think you're an asshole or anything. But you set it up that made yourself look like a pretentious prick and it looked like you were being sincere cause you followed it with a very detailed story and asked for actual opinions.
