Look, I get it. Everyone hates Justin Bieber. Why? Probably because he's famous and he's everywhere. Some people say he's annoying but that's besides the point. Bieber got hit in the head with candy wrapped inside a t-shirt. And everyone thinks it's hilarious. Hell, that video has been viewed over 500,000 times.
I don't know what's wrong with some people. It is absolutely ridiculous that somebody would do this. If you don't like him, don't buy a ticket to where he's playing and throw objects at him.
And people will say "It was only candy" but what would have happened if it wasn't candy? What if is was a rock? I bet the people over at MTV.com wouldn't be joking about it then (they would but I don't concern myself with MTV since their entire company is a joke).
You could have seriously injured this kid. Put him in the hospital. I know I might sound extreme, but what if it killed him?
I find myself in a pretty backwards situation where I'm actually agreeing with Bill O'Reilly and calling for the arrest of whoever threw the object. You should know better sir/madam. It is utterly digusting that you would buy a ticket to see Bieber just so he could throw a bag of candy wrapped in a shirt at him.
Hope you enjoy your fifteen minutes of fame asshole.
The person who hit him is an asshole and should receive the severest punishment possible. Bieber is a talented kid just doing what he enjoys. No need to get violent and cause him harm, when all he is doing is providing a service to kids in the form of his music and artistic expression.

Eh it hardly even hits him. I can't believe this nation is so hollow as to actually even consider talking about this for more than a fraction of the second. Hell the guy playing down at my local bar probably fared worse. I've got nothing against beiber, to each their own, and obviously he didn't deserve it. I dunno if this is sarcastic or not but imo it's perfectly true. I didn't laugh at this video at all and I think all of Bieber's antifans are misguided.
I don't really have an opinion on how the law should handle the perpetrator but I guess charging with assault is appropriate. There ought to be some kind of repercussion.
i posted this vid on my fbook and laughed really hard like every single time i watched it
it doesn't matter if he donated shit. the fact of the matter is that justin bieber getting hit in the face with a water bottle mid sentence is hilarious.
also if you're bieber i'd imagine 30k is like a drop in the bucket, if that.

But that's not what happened. They threw a package of candy. If it was more serious, obviously that's a completely different problem. The guy softly tossed a back of candy at his head. If someone rifled a cell phone or a rock at his head, that is a completely different situation.
I don't think it's funny, but I don't think it's a big deal at all.

Then you don't like the newspapers. There's no good reason to not like Bieber because of what the media decides to report on. Though I'm sure the media attention helps his career, he could accomplish his wildest dreams through legitimate promotion and advertisement.

Alright, agreed this person deserves some punishment. But getting arrested is pretty extreme for throwing a bag of candy at someone. I just think it's stupid to get all fumed about a bag of candy. It's not a rock. If it was a rock, then yeah, arrest him. But it's not a rock. it's a bag of candy.
So was it a water bottle or a t-shirt full of candy? It didn't look like a water bottle from the video.
I didn't find it funny beyond "celebrity getting hit in the head by something." Regardless of who it is, throwing a bottle at someone is a shitty thing to do and deserves punishment.

Yes, it was a bag of candy. Big deal. It's not necessarily WHAT he got hit with that matters, it's the concept.
eh screw him. Him giving 32,000 is like me giving a few cents, not only that but he still made money off the show, he is profiting off doing a promotion concert for flood victims(I didn't look it up, but we all know those tickets cost more then 1.06) Actually in effect he didn't give anything to the flood victims, he just made other people give money.
Plus he is really annoying and it wasn't a brick. I would say this is harassment not assault, but yes I agree with OP that its dumb to buy a ticket to throw shit at him. I don't like him, but I'm not about to waste my time and money, as well as make my ears bleed to go throw something at him at a concert.

Yes. Let's not help people in need of funds after a flood destroys their home. Way to think that one through.

No, that's not why I hate him. I hate him cause his music is total corporate trash. Complete garbage, half of which is autotuned, that any competent studio can write and fart out in a week. It's really reflective of the state of the whole industry now. That's why I hate him. Wtf happened to musical skill? When bands required technical skill and creativity, not just a catchy beat, drum loop. and then have everything else done on a computer. I swear you could combine all of the talent in popular music today and it wouldn't even amount to a fraction of the talent bands like Pink Floyd and Led Zeppelin had.

I recall hearing on the radio that the girl that threw it just wanted to show Bieber the shirt that she made for him. The girl that threw it didn't intend to cause him any harm, and if she did, why would she throw a plastic bottle? I think some of you guys are taking this too seriously. A musician getting hurt by the audience isn't unheard of at all. While I agree that it's nothing to laugh about, I don't agree that she should be put in jail, but maybe a fine. If something more dangerous happens (someone throws a rock, glass bottle, etc) then they should definitely be arrested. I personally don't enjoy Justin Bieber's music, and I dislike him for my own reasons, but I don't think any artist should be put in danger for expressing themselves.
I don't think hating him is the issue here. You can hate him all you want, but that doesn't make it ok to throw stuff at a 16-year-old kid who obviously has good intentions.
Maybe the kid didn't deserve it, but it is still hilarious nonetheless. He isn't talented, gets way too much media exposure, and will likely just end up being another teen hollywood star who ends up addicted to crack. I don't feel sorry one bit.

Good intentions, yeah right. The kid is completely controlled by the record companies and his PR people who whisper things in his ear. When people finally realize his music is bad and he gets older those labels will drop him and he will just turn into every other teen star.

And other artists aren't controlled by PR? So I guess Bieber didn't want to donate money to help flood victims like every normal human would do if they were famous. His PR guys just told him to do it instead.

Yes, that's exactly right. He probably wouldn't even have ever heard of it since he is slaving away at creating even more horrible autotune music.
Are you really asking us to watch a video, then using the fact that 500,000 people have seen it to prove people find it hilarious? FWIW, I don't think the video is funny. It isn't interesting or important either.
The only reason i would hate Justin Bieber is because i have a younger sister and three little cousins that live near me, and that is all i hear all the time. I do not mind him, even if he sounds like a girl sometimes. I think that he is just some kid who found his way to fame through youtube. I see no problem with that.

Look at the comments. Should be self-explanatory.
No, it isn't. Obviously some people would find this funny. You should know that, even without this incident ever happening. This is a non issue, and I don't see why anyone except the kid's family or friends would care.
If you are worried about the lack of compassion in the world you could find examples that are much more important and have wider relevance.
Personally I'm not a fan of Justin Beiber's music, but I will never go as far as to throw stuff at him, nor should anyone else. In fact, I'll even go as far as to say that he's talented at what he does and that he kind of deserves the fame. It's okay to not like the guy, but he's a human being too and others should respect that by not throwing stuff at him, whether its harmless or harmful.

Yes, let's put more talentless people into the mainstream media, and give those with actual talent less attention than they deserve.
But then again, none of what I say would matter, because companies like MTV don't care so long as they get the audience. Whether it's Radiohead on the stage or Bieber.
The thing about these hack, talentless people such as Miley Cyrus, Bieber, Jonas Brothers, etc. become irrelevant eventually. Then they just find new people who are marketable, but not talented.
It's a joke... -.- There's a big difference between rocks and water bottles. Think about the mass and their densities mister. Don't apply some concept rule on me... people have enough common sense and its viewed jokingly because it was a water bottle. Are you stupid? You're freaking repeating the thought process of a 12 year old. Everyone realizes its not serious when its a water bottle. Obviously a rock is different.
Look guys, I know its unfair that you think hes untalented, yet he's more popular than those who are talented. The thing about mainstream stuff is that the corporations don't care if it sounds good or not, they only care if appeals to a large audience and can make them money, or if they have the "looks" to attract more people in. Anything else is irrelevant to them. I know its unfair, but that's life. =\

Injuring people however is not that funny... But I also don't understand why some many people want him arrested. It's not like he really hurt the kid. Make him pay a fine and good is. People get only fines for far worse things. No need to crowd jails for some bullshit reasons.

Yea, and it's depressing how many people like music so superficial and basic. Also, you can hate Led Zeppelin and Floyd all you want, but that's not really the point. Right there. You may think his fans are delusional but they like listening to Bieber. Some of his fans might say you're delusional for listening to Zepplin or Pink Floyd.
What you're basically saying is their opinions are wrong. Only facts can be right or wrong. Opinions are NOT facts. Therefore, Bieber fans have opinions. I don't like Bieber either but I do respect the opinions of others even if I don't argee with them.
Of course, if someone throws a shirt filled with candy at Justin Beiber, people get their panties in a bunch because he's still a kid. How many rappers have been shot and at this point, no-one's surprised? I'm sorry, but that is NOT okay. If you're going to complain about people doing this, something so harmless, then you had better set a field on fire when a rapper gets shot. If you're a fan of Beiber, then whatever, some people have different tastes in music. But if you're going to word your post like this, then you're suggesting that you aren't a fan of Beiber and you're just angry that someone would do this to any old celebrity. In that case you cannot complain about Beiber having candy thrown at him when rappers have to live with the fact that they can be shot at any point in time. A precedent has been set for shooting rappers, so they have to live in fear of that, whether they admit it or not.

Obviously Bieber's music is blasphemy against the Hebrew God and he should be stoned for such desecration of all things holy.
I don't really get why you are so upset about this Supernova. Do you get this angry everytime a cat or dog is killed due to overpopulation? Or what about when an adult musician is pelted with much more harmful objects?
I hate Justin Bieber; He is the bastard child of Pete Wentz, the guy from Nickelback, and Ashly Simpson. I wouldn't ever attempt to harm him though, figure he will just OD if we wait long enough.

A precedent has been set for shooting rappers, so they have to live in fear of that, whether they admit it or not.
And some of said rappers have dealt drugs or commited felonys. Why should we feel sorry for them when they get nipped in the bud.
I think you prove my point in the first sentence of your post. He's a kid. He hasn't made a big mistake (yet). These rappers have made their decsion to deal drugs and assult women. They don't get any sympathy form me.
Dealing drugs and that shit ist he same as hitting someone in the head with candy? or whatever it is
i dont see the connection youre trying to amke here

Wow. So much hate for Nickelback yet nobody on this site or even in America can name the lead singer.

BTW, his name is Chad Kroeger.
I actually knew his name. What difference does it make?

Rappers rap about shooting people and committing crimes. Justin Beiber sings pop songs and is a teenage heart throb. Not really something you need street cred for.
Look, I get it. Everyone hates Justin Bieber. Why? Probably because he's famous and he's everywhere.
I swear you could combine all of the talent it popular music today and it wouldn't even amount to half the talent bands like Pink Floyd and Led Zeppelin had.
Kids like what sounds good to them, they could care less about the process. I'm not a fan of Biebers music, but that doesn't mean I hate the kid and hope he gets pelted with objects at his concerts. Also Led Zepplin and Pink Floyd's music bores the shit out of me, I could care less about how much talent they had.
Yea, and it's depressing how many people like music so superficial and basic. Also, you can hate Led Zeppelin and Floyd all you want, but that's not really the point. I was just commenting on how being famous in the music industry required talent back then. Bieber has absolutely no talent, and he doesn't even write his own songs.
Just curious btw, what kind of music do you listen to?

You are stuck in some romantic land of the 70s . You cite two of the most successful rock bands of all time and say "whatever happeneeeed" ? There is WAY more expression and creativity going on these days, but it's people like you who just have a hard on for a era when they were just a twinkle in their father's eye who stunt the growth.
"It's people like you...blah blah blah". How is me posting on a forum stunting a guy thousands of miles away from making good music? I'm open to any artist but the truth is there really isn't that much expression and creativity these days, especially in popular music. If there was I'd be the first to buy, but there isn't. Also I don't have a hard on for the 70s, I listen to a lot of music from different genres and time periods.
The truth is there is ABSOLUTELY TONS of it. With the technology out, almost anyone can get their ideas down. Things are just a lot more niche these days since people can find a perfect fit, instead of having to pick one of the few things to make it to CD like it used to be. In the mainstream, no , but that's looking in the wrong place. Obviously the most interesting things aren't going to be in the mainstream, which is diluted to appeal to the widest demographic.
Who really cares? If a person is his fan by all means cry afoul and riot the streets, some people find it funny, I kind of do. People find kicks by going to events to artists they don't like and doing something stupid like pointing laser pointers or some other retarded thing to do to piss them off.
Overreacting to something that DIDN'T happen though is something outrageous in and of itself.
wait so was it a bottle or candy? if it was a bottle was it glass or plastic. was it a plastic bottle filled with candy? i don't get it. maybe the kid wanted to give beiber candy. why are you such a h8r OP?

No I don't hate his fans, cause to each his own (delusional) opinion. I hate his music more than anything else, and yes, there are indeed many bad bands for every good band. It's just a shame that such talentless hacks like Miley Cyrus, Bieber, and the Jonas Brothers get so much support when their music is the same generic cookiecutter music that the industry is spewing out.
I love how you are comparing rock bands to a pop singer. Why the does he have to write his own songs? You think Justin Bieber has no talent? You couldn't carry a single note when you were 10.
Do you know what talent means? They are obviously talented at what they are doing. Do you know what their target audience is? You think a child is going to understand Pink Floyd's Time?
It's extremely ironic you throw the word delusional around. Seriously chill on the music elitism. You know less than you think.
Someone threw a plastic bottle with water at Iron Maiden concert right in front of me, guy on the stage just dodged it effortless and kept doing what he was doing like nothing happened. Experience folks.

I agree with what you're saying, but not the way you say it. What I take out of it is "Look guys, something is even MORE wrong than this so it's wrong to talk about this and not talk about that."
if you care so much, make a thread about it. I'd read it.

People that say Justin Bieber has no talent are mistaken. Justin Bieber is clearly more skilled at music than the average person, but I do however agree that the amount of skill and talent that he does possess is inadequate for the music industry. His music's quality is on par with garage bands and people that perform at cafes. His fame and fortune is derived from gullible fangirls who have no taste in music and love Justin Bieber just because they think everyone else loves him. With illegitimate love comes illegitimate hate to balance it out. If I was a loyal fan of a really good band or singer that has less fame and fortune than Justin Bieber, I would probably feel the same as well. Simply choosing not to buy tickets to Justin Bieber's concerts does not solve any disparity in the world. That's the motivation behind chucking stuff at Justin Bieber, or sending him to North Korea. I don't mind Justin Bieber that much, but he is a good lesson to us that respect is far more important that money.

Incorrect. Justin Bieber is a marketing genius and produces high-quality pop. He knows his target audiences and he knows it well.
1.)Listen to his lyrics. As a 20 something male, you might find the vulnerability in "baby, baby, baby, oooh" or the complete devotion "you're my one love, my one life, my one heart for sure..." completely ridiculous. But pretend you're a 14-year-old girl. That's love, baby.
2.) His soaring pop melodies that stick comfortably to the major key (especially I, IV, V, totally classic pseudo-pachelbel) make his songs ridiculously hummable. You hear it once and it's stuck in your head. One listen on the radio, and your kids are gonna want to go to his next concert/ buy his album/ go watch his new vids on youtube.
3.) And the beats that he's somehow tricked the biggest names in the business to do for him makes his songs passable dance music as well. Bieber is almost up there with Miley Cyrus up in the high-end bars of Shanghai :p
