If you were traveling at over the speed of sound from the radio, then no, you would not hear it. Of course this question is useless since you would need a plane to do this which would make you go far away from the radio quick and would make a lot of noise so you couldn't tell. I actually asked my first physics teacher in university if 2 planes were going really fast, one at match 1 and the other and match 3, would the 3 hear the noise the 1 makes? :p

Maybe a good analogy is temperature? It is cold because there is no heat...the absence of heat accounts for the cold temperature we get... 12.Why do birds not fall out of trees when they sleep? (tonight I will stay and watch). I saw this on Nat Geo or Discovery Channel (not sure which), but there's a certain position where a certain muscle of the bird that when the bird puts all its weight on a branch or something, it's "knees" and claws lock up..

They are in debt to private companies I'd guess. 15.If a person suffered from amnesia and then was cured would they remember that they forgot? (can somebody help). [b]Yes they would, since amnesia is not a disease but a state of forgetting. So amnesia would only be cured if they remember things again. There are occasions of amnesia when the physical memories are damaged, but usually the damage occurs to the process by which people retrieve memories. Also, most amnesia caused by physical damage like car accidents to get better after a while. 18.If you were traveling at the speed of sound and you turned on your radio would you be able to hear it? (got to think scientifically). Yes you should, since the "warping" of things only happen relative to the speed of light. For the person travelling at the speed of light, the speed of sound should travel at normal speed relative to him. Correct me if I'm wrong. 19.If you're traveling at the speed of light and you turn your headlights on, what happens? (I didn't had a chance to try). Same thing as above I'd guess. 21.If a person owns a piece of land do they own it all the way down to the core of the earth? (this is nice?). Not sure if its true anymore, but people used to own everything like oil or gold they found on their land which would imply they owned whatever was under their land as well. I'm sure that, should the government need something at the core of the earth under you, they wouldn't need to ask though.

interesting lol. my guess is that they do experiements and do numbers and statistics of things like having different options for a number of dogs, and seeing which one they went for. (but this wouldn't necessarily indicate taste, as ppl and animals eat for different reasons that the experiementers don't always know about. they can always add more glutamate, aspartate or excitotoxins (most common one known by the name MSG). It's already a proven phenomenon that adding excitotoxins enhances taste, provided you have those receptors in your mouth, which dogs and humans do. so u could theoretically just add more MSG and say it has improved taste with 100% straight up truth to it from every angle analyzed. 12.Why do birds not fall out of trees when they sleep? (tonight I will stay and watch). i remember learning that birds' default form for their feet is being contracted and they consciously open up their claws through muscles. (they are probably kept in the closed position by ligaments i'm guessing. kind of like how your toes naturally end up in the straight position after relaxing them from the clenched curled position. our ligaments and tendons and the lengths thereof make it so that the equilibrium position for the toes are straight. the default equilibrium position where tension are even for birds is the clenched. 14.What should one call a male ladybird? (No comments). ladies'manbird 15.If a person suffered from amnesia and then was cured would they remember that they forgot? yes they would. say the forgotten part of the amnesia of the events is from time x to time y. and say the point when their amnesia was cured is time z the amnesia is for between time x and y. even before they get cured (btw time y and z). NOTE: amnesia can be different in that you don't know that u forgot x-y, OR it could be that u do know u forgot x-y. 2 kinds of amnesia. So the "remembering" part applies to x-y (the forgotten event) itself, not y-z ( the time period that you never forgot and still haven't forgotten after u get ur amnesia cured) anyways, you didn't forget the time period between y and z. if u get amnesia cured, u remember the time between x and y. so when u get that information back to you, you'd be able to compare that info with a moment before u got cured (y-z) and piece together that you did forget it during that time. in otherwords, it would be exactly like u forgetting the name of a song, and then rememebering it. u didn't have amnesia for the time period u were all like "oh i dont' remmeber it", but rather for the name of the song itself. 17.Why is it called a "building" when it is already built? (strange isn't it). "please bring your DRIED painting over here." "your singing WAS great" this is actually very common in english. the "-ing" suffix is used in the present, in-progress action, but it's also a gerund marker, and that makes the gerund be treated completely as if it were a noun. not strange at all, it's a very normal construction and rule of grammar. 18.If you were traveling at the speed of sound and you turned on your radio would you be able to hear it? (got to think scientifically). yeah, you'd hear a sonic boom. if u add up the wave patterns, graphically, you'd see that you're hearing all the radio's sounds it has been emitting while traveling at sound speed. the sonic boom caused by jet is also because the wave fronts all coincide constructively. 19.If you're traveling at the speed of light and you turn your headlights on, what happens? (I didn't had a chance to try). acc to theory of relativity, relative to you, it would go a the speed of light. (to you it would seem exactly normal) the postulate of the theory is that light's vaccuum speed is constant in all frames of reference, and it is space and time that warps and bends. (it's crazy to think about, yeah) so if i remember my classes and reading correctly, an onlooker would see you and the ray of light going at the same speed, but you would see the same ray of light going at light speed relative to yourself. (traveling at sound speed is different from traveling at light speed, acc to relativity. u can travel faster than the speed of sound, but not speed of light. also, the speed of light is the "restricting factor" and "unifying thread" when it comes to warping of space and time. speed of sound <<<<<< speed of light. no warping going on with the mach1 radio hearing example #18, so velocity addition holds. not so with traveling at near light speeds, or even one tenth of light speed.) 20.Why is it called a TV set when theres only one? (very nice). TV + antenna + VCR, etc = set. maybe? maybe not. maybe "TV set" refers to the TV only itself. I dont know if this is the convention or not. but then again, a remote + TV would also qualify for a set. even a TV + stand would qualify for a set. also, "set" might be refering to the idea that the TV has been "set down". rather than "a set of things". but maybe that's not the case either. idk. good question. 21.If a person owns a piece of land do they own it all the way down to the core of the earth? (this is nice?). =] teehee, i've thought about this too.

It hasn't been there in the fist place. 02.When dog food is new with improved tasting, who tests it? (to be given a thought). Give old food and new food to 100 dogs. See which food is eaten by more dogs. If the new food is prefered by the dogs it has an "improved" tasting. 04.If the "black box" flight recorder is never damaged during a plane crash, why isn't the whole airplane made out of that stuff? (very good thinking). + Show Spoiler + On June 24 2010 13:51 fabiano wrote: Because the material is too damn heavy. And because it would be absolutely useless to have an indestructible plane. This fictitious plane would survive the crash but upon hitting the land the sudden stop would conduct the energy to all the passengers who then will be cut in half by their safety belts or/and just splashed on the walls of the plane. That's the reason why cars are made with "soft" materials and not as hard as possible. 13.What came first, the fruit or the color orange? (seed). + Show Spoiler + seed When the question is: fruit or color How can the answer be seed? 18.If you were traveling at the speed of sound and you turned on your radio would you be able to hear it? (got to think scientifically). Depends the positions of you and the radio. If you are both inside a vehicle (plane, car, whatever) you will be able to hear it. If you fly through the air like superman and hold the radio in your hand then: - you will be able to hear if you hold it in front of you. - you won't be able to hear it if you hold it next to you. 21.If a person owns a piece of land do they own it all the way down to the core of the earth? (this is nice?). They do own what is underneath their land, but the question becomes irrelevant at such depths since: 1. The earth surface is much bigger than the surface of the earth core (when regarded as a ball). So basically size of the part of the surface of the core you own would be only a tiny fraction of the size of the land you own on the earth's surface. 2. If anyone wanted to reach whatever the part of the core that is directly underneath your land they could just drill slightly tilted, since it wouldn't matter at such distances. 22.Why do most cars have speedometers that go up to at least 130 when you legally can't go that fast on any road? (stupid, break the law). Sells much better!

In a car? Nothing particularly happens you can hear just fine. It all depends on whether the air between you and the radio travels with you or not. 19.If you're traveling at the speed of light and you turn your headlights on, what happens? (I didn't had a chance to try). Well this is easy. The light will extend from your car at the speed of light, duh. The much more interesting question is how does this look to someone you are driving towards or someone you are passing?
