I just picked this up for $5. I never knew anything like it existed. It's mechanical, which is awesome, but check the layout Arrow keys on the left, right next to your production and control keys for Boxer-style moving of the map with cursor keys. And no Windows key It's like it's made for Starcraft. They have a few more, I'm tempted to get them just because.
(it's the one on the bottom of course)

It would be helpful it you could share the name/model number of the keyboard
|
Just send one to boxer. Like actually.
|
That's pretty cool but as far as I know, Boxer doesn't use the arrow keys to move around the map anymore ^^/
|
Would like to know the model and where you got this, especially for 5 dollars and mechanical.. wetdream status.
|
Do pros use the keypad anymore? Boxer was the only top player I recall who used it (and that was 4 years ago when they released a first-person vod of his keyboard).

How far do you know that?
That is to say HOW!!!!
If not , send it to CrazyHydra , he uses arrow keys.
Or my ex roomate. He's lame like that.

That sure means a whole lot coming from the only one of you three that did not join our CSL team on our road to the Eastern finals.....
EDIT - and, if you're available to play tonight, I'll be on.

Wow, I WANT this. OP, can we has more infos?
I figured out that these are "left-handed" keyboards. The one at this link looks identical to OP's picture, but costs a ridiculous $130.
I want one for cheap.
|
it's a Sejin Electron SKM-1040. LOL it's Korean, I had no idea. If Boxer wants one he can probably get his own, except it doesn't look like they make them anymore. Found it in town at a bargain place. Doesn't look like it's ever been used. They probably came from the local oil company or something
|
I figured you'd say that. Damn it all!
Lol. Thank you for giving me something to keep my eye out for though. I probably would have seen one in a store and said "lol, you use both hands to type anyway, left-handed keyboard? retarded". But now that I actually see one out of the box and without all that distracting...err, cardboard...I totally am gonna quest for one.

$5 for a mechanical keyboard alone is worth it. The unique layout is just an added bonus.
|
I know right? I'd probably going to go back and get the rest of them.
Pic of what it looks like under the keys:

That doesn't look like the Cherrys in my Deck board, but if you look at the pics here http://www7.ocn.ne.jp/~hisao/image/skm2001.htm they are nothing if not mechanical.
Here's the inside. I guess there could be individual rubber domes under all of those, but I can't see any membrane anywhere. Looks like Futaba switches.

At any rate, I still like the layout, and it does feel pretty good. And the price was right. Probably not going to replace my Deck, but definitely one for the collection, and I could see myself using it for Starcraft or FPS (I still use the arrow keys D: )
|
omg i love this! i hate using my right to use the arrow keys / numpad. especially in some games that require you to use them without being able to change the button settings. the only thing bad that i see about it is the fkeys are slightly far -_- i have small hands
|
I don't know very much about mechanical keyboards, but $5 seems like an amazing price for one. Nice Deck btw (I'm sure that was more than $5 kekeke)
Send one to Boxer and notify us of any replies.
|
omg u so lucky, i wish i could get my hands on something like that for $5 esp since im in the market for a new keyboard...prolly gonna go for a dt-35 or something like that
|
Small backspace key = fail, otherwise its pretty nice.
|
oh wow a mechanical for $5? I was gonna buy one for $150, gosh ur lucky

you know this is like the best keyboard for ppl who are left handed mouse user..
oh, and without windows key, it really sucks to maneuver around pograms (no more shortcuts for opening "my computer" and minimizing to show desktop)
|
wow that would probably be really useful to get used to that configuration
|
so.. where did you find this? Because I really want to pick something like this up. I'm right handed, but I really prefer having the mouse much closer to the letter keys, so I have a tenkeyless mechanical, but I sometimes do like the keypad. The arrow key position seems like it could be much more useful in a FPS as well.
|
You wouldn't be trying to sell one of these, would you?
|
ah, this would be perfect for me, like half of my mousepad is obstructed by the arrows / numpad of my keyboard right now.
|
looks cool but i still perfer to use my ddr mat as my arrow keys with my feet
works fairly well

wow that keyboard is awesome. The fact that the windows key is nonexistent is definitely a plus. I can see how this could be better for gaming, but I wouldn't see myself using it for typing, because the backspace looks so small.
