The "LOG IN or REGISTER" box is the only thing that seems weird to me - both the fact that it's huge and that it switches flush left/center/flush right. It's position vertically also seems off - it doesn't line up with anything in particular.
I like the space at the top and it might be better if the featured replays box was moved to the bottom of the page to open up the top even more... then maybe reduce the login box in size and put it in the upper-right corner or align it with the page title. Unless the replays are the most important thing, it seems weird to have them smack at the top of the page, anyway.

Yea, that bothered me also. I think what's mainly wrong with it is there's so much unused space on the box. The person who hired me said they just wanted a simple clan site, with emphasis on the basic necessities: news, forums, and replays. The news is already prominent, and the forums, too; so it only made sense to give the replays in a spot it would be noticeable in (heck, replays are a key part of SC). Really, what more does a clan site need anyways?

..I didn't update the content to show my work yet (as you can tell from the repeated VG fillers), and the "about" page isn't done either. Not that finishing the content is hard - I just get lazy and/or distracted.

I really dislike that so much of the top is used for bg image only. If it was mine i'd make the featured replay box as small as the other ones and then move the headline+news boxes all the way to the top.
Also compact the deadspace a little in general. Pretty much what some other people have said I guess.

I just read your resume. No formal education. By this do you mean you have never attended K-12 which I believe is mandatory or are you referring purely to higher education?

I like the color scheme a lot. I actually prefer the darker one. I'm not so sure yet about the Login Button and the Featured replay box and that top left area in general.
Liking it so far though.

I wanted to keep the design as minimalistic and spacious as possible; plus, most gamers nowadays have large screen resolutions so the space helps lighten the load on the eyes.

Haha, yeah.. that resume is.. sparse. Anyhow, there will be an actual resume page there probably, instead of a formal resume with all my information.

Resumes are supposed to only give information that is relevant to the job title you're seeking or field you're working in. It's common sense to not include high school (and below) as credentials for a job, especially for a programming one. o_o

Maybe its just me but the font used for the site makes it meh since the clan is called Quantum it made it sound more intense and liquidy :o but that's just me! Also did thjey want the site to say "a starcraft ii clan" ?

Just one thing, after a quick look.
The featured replays box could be auto-sized. I can see lots of death space if all the replay name are small.

Looks like a generic wordpress blog really. You can just take some better designed free theme and replace the images with SC ones.
