Hey guys I really need some help with my Overlord drop micro. It's not a huge deal but i wouldn't mind knowing how to do this.

Anyway I was watching a game that sen played and i was almost positive that i saw him drop with his overlords WHILE moving.
I was just wondering how do i drop while my overlords are still moving. It sounds easy but i messed around with it for awhile and I just can't seem to figure it out.
Help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Maybe its different in sc2 but in bw you unload directly on top of a moving overlord. Like you press the hotkey (I think it's D in sc2?) and left click on the overlord itself. I imagine this is still how it works.

Hello, well this is how it worked in sc1, and im sure it does in sc2 as well. You move all the overlords overshooting where you want to drop units. Then as they enter your target drop area, you select them one by one and use the hotkey to drop and target that overlord. This should issue the command to drop at overlord's location, and since the overlord is moving, the location should move with it. Hope this helps!

Soo uh, was this for sc2 or broodwar? You might want to put that in your op next time cause I still don't know.

I re-read this 5 times and then finally re-loaded it to figure that out lol. Other than that, look at liquipedia next time.(both BW and SCII as certain things like this are the same)

Click on the unit in the overlord while its moving? Does moving drop work in SCII?

Ya I came from Wc3 and I assumed it would be the same mechanics it's definitely not.

It's the same as SC, you can drop while moving by unloading on the transport itself.

Yeah, and it's actually a lot easier in SC2 since once an overlord starts dropping, giving it new move commands won't cancel the drop action (the only way to make it stop dropping is to hit Stop, or wait until it runs out of units).
