I was gonna write something clever making you think it's a girlfriend at first but I didn't have the imagination for it.
Anyway, it's a new computer. Got her yesterday and my god it's so nice to have a computer that counts as "modern". I've been on laptops for the past 5 years. I love laptops (nothing better then taking a shit while browsing youtube) but I also love starcraft. And since I didnt feel like putting up a shitload of money for a gaming-laptop I had to go with a desktop. Since I know nothing about what hardware you want these days I asked a friend to put together a nice one for me.
Specs: Mobo: Gigabyte GA-P55A-UD3 HDD: 320GB Samsung Spinpoint F1 T HD322HJ CPU: Intel Core i3 530, 2.93GHz RAM: Corsair 4GB (2x2GB) Value Select DDR3 1333MHz GFX: XFX Radeon HD5770 XXX 1GB Fan: Noctua NF-S12B FLX PSU: Fractal Design Tesla 650W 80+ Case: Cooler Master Elite 334 Black DVD: Optiarc AD-7240S DVD±RW Svart SATA, OEM
Now again a friend of mine put it together so no "why'd you go with X when there's Y?" I know very little about hardware.
So anyway it's been a while since I last assembled a computer so it took me 2½ hours to get it up and running. My back was pretty sore so I sat down and played SC2 until I couldn't keep my eyes open. So day 2, I played happely all day right?
No, tomorrow (today TL time) is my birthday. So I had to go back to my hometown. So now I'm stuck here for atleast 3 days. It hurts since I have a brand new computer with the beta on it at home. So today, instead of playing SC2, I spent 5 hours baking. Now my back is even worse and I still have to clean up. So so tired >.<
But this Sunday I'll put down some serious gamingtime! oooh I can't wait!

Nice! Just wondering though, how often do you get "presents" that are immediately taken away, or something of the sort because of April Fools?
|
Congrats, what are you going to name her?
+ Show Spoiler +Also can someone get me his IP address so I can check her ports and benchmarks when she gets a bit older.

Happy birthday and congrats on the baby!
PS: I miss your weight loss blog, bring it back.

But congrats on your new cyborg

Desktops > Laptops
Laptops are lame...especially for gaming

Not a fan of i3 but that's still a cool comp.

Damn, I actually thought it was a newborn baby.
Congrats on the build though, always the best way to go.
Looks like a great budget build that will run SC2 perfectly.
|
Might be dumping a bit too much into the PSU (only need 500W) but it looks solid enough of a build.

nice rig ! how many cores are there on the i3?

First of all: thank you guys so much for the congratulations!

Nah I don't need to overclock it. Runs SC2 perfectly and that's really all I need a new computer for.

Yeah but I always buy semi-crappy laptops

I think you misunderstood what I was saying. I said "today TL time" because in KST the time was 1:48am April 2nd. I managed to get out of beeing a april fools joke But I did have a childhood friend who was born on the 1st of April but we never did any jokes towards him :/

Well you have to consider that she's black, so I named her "Latosha". We're gonna be on Jerry Springer someday!
+ Show Spoiler +I live in a very gated community. If you try to check out my external IP, all the ports you'll "check" will belong to Frank the fat security guard who smells a bit funny. But I guess he could benchmark you all day!

Gaaah I've been meaning to get that back on track >.< I just have to drag my keyboard out of my ass and get more active with training again.
