Disclaimer: The title says that it is Daigomi's guide to good listening. That means its my opinion. Feel free to disagree as long as you provide reasons; I enjoy a good discussion as much as the next person. Also, I just like listening to music, I don't give a shit for the political implications of any music.

Woopsies! The Smiths - The Smiths was in that spot yesterday, and I forgot to change the date :p
EDIT: I seem to have gotten distracted while adding that album. I only changed the name and added a youtube, but forgot to change the description or the date. My mind has been everywhere recently, like I was looking for a mum song on youtube to add, and after 20 minutes of being distracted I was trying to find an artist to put into that spot, and I completely forgot that I planned to put mum in there. Took me another 20 minutes to realise that I wanted to put mum there, and to choose a song for the youtube :p
Good looks, I was listening to Aeroplane while I was out today. Jeff Mangum's voice sounds a little strange and forced for some people at first, but damn it really grows on you.
1. K-Os - Yes! - Nice ... this definitely does not sound like the typical 2009 sounding hip-hop (in a good way).
2. Neutral Milk Hotel - In the Aeroplane over the Sea - This album is so hyped up in the indie crowd. It's decent but not as mind-blowing awesome imo as so many ppl make it out to be.
3. Iggy and the Stooges - Raw Power - I like ... I really don't listen to too much music from the 70's but this stuff is enjoyable to listen to.
4. múm - Yesterday Was Dramatic – Today Is OK - Alright ... not particularly impressive though. I have one of their albums somewhere.
5. Evoken - Embrace the Emptiness - Heh it's ok ... I think you know by now how I feel about this genre in general =).
Yeah I'm another in the camp of people that have never gotten how that nmh album is supposed to be such a big deal. I'm a huge olivia tremor control / circulatory system fan too so people always assume I love it... but... just doesn't quite do it for me.

You're right, it's just as good. I slightly prefer raw power, but fun house could have been chosen just as easily.

Like I sad, my point isn't to choose the best album, but to choose an album that's good listening. Both artists are good, mum is a bit more electronic, amiina is a bit more minimalist. I like both 1. Haha, glad you like it. It's a very interesting album.
2. I haven't disagreed with you yet, just said it's a matter of taste if you don't like something, but I disagree with you that it's good because it's hyped up. I got that album about 7 years ago without knowing anything about it (in fact, I copied it as one of about 100 albums from a friend). I've loved it since the first time I heard it, and out of all the albums I've listed here so far, it's definitely one of my favourites. That said, I can understand if people don't like it, I just don't think it is over hyped.
3. Yeah, the Stooges have aged much better than most punk for me. It works perfectly today still.
4. I spent such a long time trying to choose a song, because songs do not really work alone. Listen to your mum album from start to finish, it's much better as an album.

Ahh, it's unfortunate that you don't like the album. Any specific thing that bothers you about it?
