Enough with this phrase people, this has been a joke for too long now. I am so sick of hearing people say "I'm bad" and constantly joking about it. All these jokes about being "bad". Stop already, it's not funny anymore.
It was cute and funny like maybe a year or two ago. For example: "OH LOL THOSE GUYS ARE SAYING MACHINE IS BAD HAHAA THAT'S REALLY FUNNY BECAUSE MACHINE IS ACTUALLY PRETTY GOOD LOL! :D!"
It was funny for a while even after that. Joking around with friends "lol ya im a bad though...ya he's bad...etc.". Was fun for a while to make fun of people saying they are bad, or to make fun of yourself saying you are bad etc.
Now it's gone too far. Kawaiirice you aren't bad you made it to WCG, enough with the jokes already we get it that you are making fun of yourself. Every effing person in the sc community, "I'm bad, you're bad, he's bad" etc.
Am I the only person who think this phrase needs to be put to rest?
All the good one-liners were taken, so in an attempt to actually provide something meaningful to this 'bad' blog... if it makes you feel better there are WORSE sayings still going around. You should go for those.

I agree that it's often overused, but there are people who really do think that they're bad. I don't judge all the people who cry "I'm bad" at x, y, and z cause of those people

Ugh.. For a moment I thought this was gonna be a good blog.. Starting out with a qoutation always did wonders for me (Read: Riptide).. But this was not worth it
You can't actually say you're good without looking like a twat, so you have to say you're bad. Since everyone "knows" it's not true, in effect you're implying you're good whilst saying the complete opposite.

i entirely agree. I much prefer someone jokingly saying they're bad, than being like 'oh rofl guys im so fucking pro'. Humility is much better than being like those elusive few that the tl community hates so much. Besides maybe they actually feel they're bad? i mean what's our ceiling, the progamers? It's always reasonable
When you talk about baseball teams or (lets just say american) football teams, and call them bad (such as the pirates or the raiders), you call them bad. Its automatically assumed you are talking comparatively to the other professional baseball/football teams. I don't see why it would be ay different in starcraft. Edit: oh, and there are other phrases/meme's that are far more annoying than "i'm bad" or whatever. COUGHUSEFULSKILLTOIHAVECOUGH
Kawaii is one of the few that does this. 95% percent of all other people say that they are good blah blah blah. It's refreshing seeing some people that aren't arrogant and cocky.
It's much better than hearing people call themselves amazingly talented or something. People who do that tend to be total dicks, whereas people who say they are worse than they actually are generally just don't want to look like they're bragging about their skills.
Mk just to clarify for you people who are bringing up the point of cockiness so you don't have to repeat yourselves, that's not what I'm talking about.
I'm talking about people who constantly say they are bad. The phrase itself. It's not used as humility when you say it 24 hours a day. I guess many of you haven't experienced hearing this phrase almost 50 times/day with friends online so can't really relate.

Yeah its pretty annoying when anyone above like D+ says it, because iirc, being C- and above means you're in the top 30-40% of sc players in the world. so if you're above D+, you're not bad. just stop

Depending on what you mean by "sc player." If you just mean someone who plays starcraft, then D+ is easily top 40% (heck, probably most D-level players are too)--take a look at how many people are on bnet and then how many are on ICCUP.
For kicks I just checked this, and SC told me there were 62k players logged on bnet with SC (I logged on USWest, not sure if that matters), and less than 2k logged on ICCUP.
