Personally I'd go for a PS3 since it's not ridiculously overpriced anymore.

Consoles suck right now because ps3 is best (bluray player , better games etc), but xbox has the better internet/multiplayer base, and wii has all the sega/nintendo franchise.
most of the stuff for wii sucks, but all the mario games are legit. The main thing I hate about wii though is that none of the games offer customizable controls.
Take mario kart wii for example, that game 100% needs customized controls but there is no way to change them. The only thing that even comes close is if you use wii wheel, gamepad, or wii-mote + nunchuk, all of which suck because they are all clumsily setup in some way..

get what you want but find a way for someone to let you play Uncharted 2 on their PS3.

All my friends that come play games at my house leaving dying wanting a PS3. Especially the ones with a 360. Sure Xbox live is better than PSN but PSN is definitely good enough and I play SF4 online in Canada and still find competition pretty easily. Built in internet browser is perfect for streaming stuff, bluray is the future, easy media linking to your PC, somepretty wicked rpgs and a shit ton of shared games between it and xbox. If you are a diehard shooter fan go 360, anything else PS3. Also PS3 will last a fuck ton longer than 360. If you are a hardcore gamer looking to get into a console and it took you this long to buy a next gen console, be prepared to get pissed off in a couple of years when you need to replace your 360 with whatever xbox makes to compete with higher end PS3 games, thats how 360 was released > to beat ps2 which came out before xbox origianl. gg fagbox.

For PC also, and most games for PC/Console are actually better with keyboard/mouse. Like Mass Effect and Left 4 Dead. Games like Mirrors Edge or Braid are better with a controller.
Also I don't wanna hear "oh well pc doesnt count so it still is exclusive". That's bullshit and everyone knows it, any decent or mid range PC/laptop can play most games released both on consoles and pc with no problem at all.

Again, PS3 is the system you get if you have friends that you are sure that you're going to be sharing this system with. I agree with everyone here saying that PS3 is a overall better system, but it's not companion friendly.

I disagree with this. Even though the wii has a very low failure rate, and is probably the best system out there for multiplayer gaming, it doesn't have the games to back it up. Most of the games released for the wii are games that emphasize its "wiimote" technology or are continuations off of old series. 360 and PS3 just simply have better games. Don't believe me? Play "Star Wars: The Force Unleased" on both the wii and the 360 and you be the judge.

I'd recommend a Wii, and get Metriod Prime Trilogy. I don't know what you are talking about when you say there's no good games for wii, there's a lot of them and I see a lot of good titles on the horizon for the Wii..

for every 'good' game on wii theres at least 10 on any other system. 2/3'rds of metroid prime trilogy was for gc and i already played them. IMHO the only good wii games are games you turn into drinking games i.e. mario party etcetc
