Hey folks!
I FINALLY got a new laptop! Squeeee!!! I'm so excited, ^.^;
Anyway, I've got a pretty solid graphics card, awesome specs, loads of sheep, etc etc... I can finally play modern games!
So I'm currently downloading League of Legends, and Magic Online, as these are my staple games lately.
But! What games have come out in the last few years that you all recommend I play? I'll play basically anything, but I wanna emphasize something with pretty new graphics. I just got my new compy today, and I wanna put it through its paces!
All suggestions are much appreciated! Thanks!

I'm playing Age of Mythology: The Titans. I cant play BW online atm, so thats why I'm playing it. Its quite entertaining. Atleast its a RTS and gives alot of macro practice.

left for dead 2 seems very good

It's far from fancy. Anyone with a gaming PC would probably laugh at me. I got a dell studio XPS and sprung for the awesome graphics card, and some other random upgrades.
I'll see if I can put together the specs somehow.

omg MTGO???
i remember the beta of that game, it basically ruined a semester of college for me. during IPA block, the only one i played, i got to 1900+ simulated rating (limited, drafts only) during that beta. one time, i went to a local FNM and one of those "famous pros" was there drafting, one of the rubin brothers. i played him and outdrew him like crazy (topdecking a ghitu fire exactly when i needed it) and he BM'd me in real life lol. i think it was because i was at a super low rating which made him lose a ton of points haha. irl mtg smurfing, yeah.
anyway, im terrified of downloading it now because i'm scared of becoming hooked again, this after selling my entire collection of stuff.

Man I wasted so much money on MTGO and only played for a few months, rofl.
So much more fun than the other ways of playing online though.

Haha, I've been really good about spending money yet. Just buy a bunch of event tickets, and use those to trade for everything you need. I'm still really noob at magic, but my boyfriend's got me hooked, so it's lotsa fun. I'm still wicked confused about standard vs extended vs classic vs yourmother vs etc etcetc, but I'm certainly enjoying myself.
I could never play magic IRL because going to the local gaming store to play warhammer is bad enough. Having to sit down with a bunch of sexually tense nerds who don't shower would be a fucking nightmare.
I think I'm gonna get Mass Effect 1. Never played through it, and now I have a compy that can run it well! Yay!

dragon age is the best game ive played in years

Mass Effect 1 is good. I can't wait to play 2, isn't 2 coming out soon?

The first NWN2 expansion, Mask of the Betrayer, is very good (best-written RPG since Planescape Torment, IMO). If you can pick up some sort of NWN2 pack with the main game and it, I'd highly recommend it.
The Witcher is a good RPG, but certain features of it also make it VERY obvious that it's geared toward a male demographic.

Guess that's what happens when you have a more developed tournament circuit, but no sportsmanship score.

Eh, not a huge fan of Mass Effect 1, but that's mostly because I was entirely disinterested in the shooter aspects of it, and a lot of the RPG aspects are hugely inadequate, IMO.
