That rule is for people over 500 posts.
Imo, they should change it so you need to be between 50 and 500 posts to get your name changed.
There is WAY TOO MANY people with 1 post requesting a name change. I don't care if you want to change your name for streaming purposes, just make a new account ffs ._.

In other words, people who HAVE 500 or more posts can NOT get a name change due to reputation being important. No I think you're wrong. If people have over 500 posts the chance is that you have maybe gotten some friends on your friendlists and got attached to your user account and probably are pretty active on the site, while people with less posts could just easly make a new one instead of asking for a name change before they even getting started on the forums. I could obviously be wrong, but on the looks of it, the people who requested new ID's and has a low post count still have the same ID as before (ignored requests?).  No, that's wrong. Look about 10 pages back and you'll see plenty of people with less than 500 posts who have had their name changed. I think the person who was meant to do it for this month just hasn't gotten around to it yet.

To stream you need to have an account that has been registered for 3 months. So name change = 1 month...new account = 3 month. Name Change > New Account.
Any update when this round of name changes will occur?

I know the name is taken (http://www.teamliquid.net/forum/profile.php?user=doctor) but that user has 0 posts and I was wondering if there was any way you could check if he is inactive? And if so, could I have that name? Sorry if I'm asking for a lot, it's just that it would match my name on bnet and would be better for when I stream later on.

Just curious, the official rule on page 1 says
"Official Rules:
1. If you have 500 posts, don't bother asking. "
Does it mean you are only eligible for a name change if you have 500+ post?
