So if Jin Air wins one map, they'll be in the playoffs. If they win 3-2 they'll be third, 3-1 or 3-0 win and they'll be second?

IMs lineup looks strong but luckily for jin air they have Maru

If it was possible that IM would need a 3-0 (as it has come to be) why did Jin Air put Maru last? I know they submitted the line-ups last week. How likely was it that map score would be important?

Pretty likely. For instance, Creator taking a map off Jin Air is why IM is even still alive.

If Samsung lost (and badly) then IM would've over taken them instead - but I see your point.
There were just other ways to get in.
