We are six weeks into the Altitude ISL's qualifying stage and only one final Qualifier remains. Below you'll find an overview of the players that have qualified so far, some fresh interviews, and a look ahead at only remaining way to get on board. All report at Gate 7, the ISL is just about to take off.
As per usual, you can follow the Qualifier 7 at hacklebeast and L_Master, whose streams start at 20:00 CET Saturday and 19:00 CET Sunday respectively.
Qualifier 7 musings
When the qualifying format for the Altitude's ISL3 was first announced, there was a lot of backlash. No ladder stage, but gruelling single elimination brackets. The worst part though? Only three tries.
I have to say though, as an onlooker, this whole scheme makes matters a whole deal more interesting as we get to watch the players make their decisions. Let's see... first there's the mappool that people can choose as per preference and then there's the thought that the later qualifiers will be easier since all the gosus have already qualified. Then again, said gosus might be thinking along those same lines, plus waiting for the last qualifier to make an attempt is a waste of your precious two other tries. Metagaming abounds.
As far as mappool goes, feel Qualifier 7 might be the most attractive one. With Sniper Ridge, Ground Zero and Jade it's certainly the most modern one - taking also into account how these new proleague maps have been featured heavily in other BW leagues as well.
There's a number of very skilled players still in the queue to take a shot at qualifying and, although the majority of foreigners' finest have already made it through, everyone will be wanting to get in on Q7. The three-tries rule is out of the window now anyway, since it's everyone's last try. It's crunch-time - do or die. It's ISL3.

You qualified on first try in Qualifier 4. Did you pick that qualifier for a specific reason and everything went according to plan, or was there no such decision making involved?

Now that you passed the first stage, how far do you want to go?

There's only one more qualifier left... are there any players you'd still like to see qualify?

You qualified in Qualifier 3 on your first try! All according to plan?

So far only 6 Terrans have advanced, do you feel any pressure now that you're one of the few representatives of your race?

So you plan on making the finals? =D
