disclaimer : none of these tournaments sent me to post this i just thought they deserve it
so we have z33k giving out 50$ daily and playhem giving out 75$ daily which is basicly 1500$ and 2250$ respectively every month
I know the event calendar is 100$ minimum but I really feel like these 2 organisations/tournament deserve a free pass. It would promote small time streamers who sign up to all of those and have great dedication and it would also help the sponsor/organisations who are doing these daily because I've seen their numbers and they get 30-50 viewers top
I think it's great that everyday players can battle for some decent amount of money and I think TL should help them by letting them be on the calendar.

The calendar would be plagued with these tournaments. Sure, cumulatively, they give a lot, but individually which is what these tournaments will look like on the calendar will be excessive.

It wouldn't be excessive, IPL restream in the event calendar is excessive these tournaments deserve support.. =/

Who are the casters for these tournaments, I don't even see them.

with the money they give in total for the event they should count as above the 100$ mark.
Still I agree these daily events need to supported more its a really great thing for the scene.

Why aren't they listed on the TL topic?

It's under consideration, just so you know this isn't being ignored.

I agree, awesome tournaments.

I agree as well. It's fantastic that these organizations are putting the time and money into hosting tournaments, and they deserve support.

This is a completely different situation that will result in maybe 1-2 extra events in the calendar. You act as if the calendar is supersaturated.

edit: I don't know what you mean by "overstepping your bounds"

I haven't really heard of these tournaments before, if they do offer that many daily prizes that is pretty cool and having them on the calendar would help people like me tune into them more frequentley.

The z33k daily tournament has been running for more than 9 months, but it is only the beginning of September that prizes were added and a casting team was formed. The exposure from the calendar would certainly help the event grow and it could potentially help streamers, since the daily has always been open to different casters.
An absolute dollar per event calendar requirement favors the featuring of one-off events over regular tournaments even if the total investments per month or per week are equivalent. The rules are not absolute, but even if they were, it may be okay depending on the goals of the calendar.
Regular events offered by Playhem, z33k, and other organizations are not excessive. For any kind of sport to grow, there must be systems of organized competition at every level of play. Look at local intramural sports teams – aside from bringing people to the sport, these teams can be seen on tv and in the newspapers from time to time. I think the events and their exposure are just as fundamental in online competitive gaming context.
Looking beyond the calendar, TL has done an excellent job of providing different ways to expose all kinds of events including an open tournament tracker, liquipedia and a tournament forum. I am grateful for these tools and look forward to any improvements that are made. Likewise, if there is anything that I can do to help, let me know.
