Press Release

+ Show Spoiler +

Ladies and Gentlemen,

ESL Asia is proud to announce that we will be launching the most successful Starcraft 2 cup, GO4SC2 for the South-East Asia region! With the launch of the ESL SEA Section for the Electronic Sports League, The ESL Asia committee is pleased to be once again working together with the Starcraft 2 community in South-East Asia after the tremendous success of the Intel Extreme Masters Sea and Asia Qualifiers for Season V of the Intel Extreme Masters where we saw FXO-MoonGlaDe competing in the World Finals at CeBIT in Hannover, Germany!

Electronic Sports League (ESL) introduces Go4SC2, a series of tournaments in Starcraft 2, ONE of the most popular RTS games worldwide for the South-East Asia region. Every Sunday it will feature a cup with unlimited number of participants and 75USD as the main prize. Top 16 players in each cup will be awarded points depending on their performance and the final placement. Every Thursday, another cup will take place and the top 8 will be awarded points. At the End of a month, 8 players with the biggest amount of points will participate in a monthly final with 250USD in cash prizes. The competition will begin on the last Sunday of May (the 29th).

“We are very proud to announce another big step for the South-East Asia Starcraft 2 community“, said Jasper Mah, the Tournament Director for ESL SEA. Right after the successful series of Go4SC2 Cups launched successfully across other regions worldwide, Go4SC2 will offer players of any skill level a regular opportunity to compete with the best for the prize Money. We are looking forward to seeing this”, he added. All the information concerning the tournament and the registration is available at http://www.esl-asia.net/Sea/sc2/go4sc2/

Starcraft 2 is ONE of the most-played PC games in the world, where players compete against ONE another for Victory on highly stylized battlefields and landscapes. Go4SC2 will not be the Only Starcraft 2 tournament within the Electronic Sports League for South-East Asia. Taking Into consideration its large popularity as well as a high international level of the game play, it was already introduced as ONE of the disciplines of the Intel Extreme Masters, the premier eSports event held in seasons that introduce large cash prize Money to be competed by players from all over the world.

Electronic Sports League

The Electronic Sports League (ESL) is the largest and most important league for gamers in Europe consisting of more than 2,9 million registered members and more than 710,000 registered teams. ESL is operated by the company Turtle Entertainment GmbH since 2000 and offers more than 3,500 professional leagues and amateur ladders from a variety of games. Nearly 400.000 matches per month are being played worldwide using the ESL technology. The ESL website currently reaches above 1,6 million Unique visitors a month and about 35.000 New players register every month.

Every Thursday and Sunday the best StarCraft II players in South-East Asia, Australia and New Zealand will play for ranking points to qualify for the 250 US Dollars monthly finals on top of 75 US Dollars every Sunday.

How did you hear about the ESL? :

If you would like to understand the term of use as stated in the registration process, it is included as shown below :
+ Show Spoiler +

With the Electronic Sports League ("ESL") and the Consoles Sport League ("Consoles") the company Turtle Entertainment ("TE") provides a ranking system on the internet. The utilisation of the ESL and Consoles website by registered users is subject to the following terms of use:

1. The contents of the website and the ranking system are subject to modifications and amendments by TE.

2. Availability
a.TE is anxious to ensure maximum availability of the complete ESL and Consoles website.
b.TE ensures a 97% availability of all services liable for costs.
c.In order to ensure a rapid calculation of the ranking system, the access to the website is blocked for approximately 1,5 hours each day from 6:00 a.m. onwards. The rules concerning the availability of services do not apply for this timeframe.

3. TE renders no further services other than the ranking system and any additional services on the website.

4.The participants are obliged to use only original games.

5. The user is obliged to abide by the rules established by the ESL and Consoles. A breaching of these rules can lead to the imposition of the sanctions in Rule 7 et segg (http://www.esl-europe.net/eu/rules/#rule_66), which may even lead to an exclusion from the ESL and Consoles. Should this be the case, the user has no right of any kind of refunds.

6. The user is obligated to enter truthful information to the best of his/her knowledge concerning the registry and utilisation of the proposition.

7. TE takes no responsibility for the correctness of any personal statements made by the users on the page.

8. The exploitation rights for league games carried out within the ESL or Consoles lie with TE. This includes the rights on demos and/or replays of league games as well as the right to broadcast the games on TV, on the radio or via audio- or video stream on the internet. TE also has the right to record the broadcasted games. Demos and replays are files that can be created by the game’s software in order to record the process of the game which can then be reviewed at a later date.

9. Player- and game-accounts are not transferable. This especially applies to any form of trading on ebay or similar pages.

10. Solely the law of the Federal Republic of Germany applies.

11. Should one or more clauses of the terms of utilisation be void, this does not affect the validity of the other clauses. The void clause would be replaced by a clause which meets the expectations of the parties involved.

For the terms of data protection as required in the second checkbox, the information is as detailed below :
+ Show Spoiler +

Use of personal data
TE stores personal data which result from the registration ("Stock Data") and the use of the ESL and Consoles ("Transaction Data") on its computer systems. Stock data also includes data that the user may communicate with TE outside the ESL and Consoles website, provided that this data is necessary for transactions or offers within the ESL. Apart from the data which results from the participation in the league and the team allocation ("League Data") the transaction data also includes information the user gives TE when taking part in additional activities, surveys, advertising efforts or market research. ("Market Research Data").
In order to prevent any form of malpractice, the users’ IP addresses are stored.

The saving of Stock- and Transaction Data has the purpose of making the execution of the ESL and Consoles and the further development of services possible. It also serves the purpose of providing useful market analysis and product information for TE. No data is assigned to a third party.

The user herewith agrees to the storage, processing and transmission of his/her Stock and Transaction Data as well as his/her IP address for the reasons mentioned above. This declaration of consent or partitions thereof may be revoked at any time.

Do let me know if you have any other inquiries so that I can assist you in whatever way possible.

One quick question.

We have 2 different times posted. The 1 posted on this thread says 17:00 GMT+8 with checkings begining at 14:40 and on ESL it says 15:00. Do the games start from 3pm or 5pm? and if 5pm the check-in lasts 2hours?

Just clearing a few things up before I sign up because I got commitments Sunday arvo.

Hi Vasso,

The ESL website is timezone based, meaning anywhere on the website you see the time according to your timezone on ESL (the clock at the top of your userbar).
