I made a post about it earlier. The similarities between Life and MMA are scary.
For example, they both got their starts from strong GSTL performances in the spring / early summer.
Both of them had relatively weak matchups vP.
Both of them won their first GSL against Mvp, the fall of that same year.
Both of them won the Blizzard Cup (both in December)
During this time, both of their races were the most successful races in terms of tournament wins (Terran and Zerg, respectively)
Both of them made back to back MLG finals.
Both of them won the Iron Squid
Roughly a year after their successful debuts, they begin to slump (MMA in early summer 2012, Life in early summer 2013)
and most recently...both of them finished 3rd / 4th place at DH Bucharest.
It is also interesting to note that the last major success MMA had before his slump was Iron Squid 1. In his group, was an up and coming Korean named Zenex Life who had qualified through the online qualifiers. MMA's TvZ back then was basically untouchable, but Life was able to put up a close 2-1 fight despite losing. But the torch had been passed, and despite MMA winning Iron Squid, Life would dominate the SC2 scene for the next year in MMA's stead.

Well to be fair Life didn't make the Ro8 of the last Code S of the year so MMA should be considered just a bit more relevant than Life.
