Meanwhile in the other ZvZ, DRG and Luvsic are both getting up to 3 bases.

DRG for sure, has mutas out, and a 20ish supply lead...

Gom should just stop calling code A or code S. Code A has no champion anymore, just a preliminary round for code S, so it is basically just one tournament with one champion. Dropping to code A doesn't mean much also, you can still win code S next season.

Code S should be called GSL, and it is better than just Code S anyway.

You still need to differentiate the players that have a chance to win the GSL (code S), and the players in the qualifying bracket (code A). Code A/S is as good a designation as any other, and the audience is already used to these terms.

Current Code A players and MVP both have chance to win next season's code S, MVP just got seeded better. Code A is just preliminary round for next season which got played before the end of current season to save time.

So that means it is actually important to differentiate the players THIS SEASON who can win the GSL. Otherwise it's more confusing to say that there are 64 players but only the top 32 are competing for the title this season, while the bottom 32 (along with the 9-32 places) are in the qualifier bracket for next season.

Code A/S is essentially already shorthand for qualifier bracket/main tournament, so I'm not sure what the point would be to change it.

thats pretty awesome

drg snipse the infestation put of luvsic, who puts up hydra den

4 infestors get made however, and theres a lot of spores to prevent the mutas from really killing verything

4 banes go into drgs third and kill 4 workers...

OKAY FROM THAT PERSPECTIVE I SEE WHAT YOU'RE TALKING ABOUT

Again my players have to play fan favourites He won because HerO went pheonix which is the easy counter to 1-1-1... There are other protosses who would have done a pressure build to kill off some units and weaken the 1-1-1 whilst expanding. It was a kneejerk reaction by hero that lost him the game (without knowing how it would have panned out otherwise)...

That being said, people really do under rate asd too much... He got into code S......

In 1-1-1 favorable maps, it must be blind countered, which leaves you extremely vulnerable to anything else. If you don't do a blind counter you will die to the 1-1-1, doesn't matter if you scout it. MC and HerO have both proven many times you need to blind counter, it's the only thing that works with enough consistency.

That early pressure you talk about only works in maps large enough, say, Tal'Darim. Terran knows this, which is why they never use that build on TDA.

Early game TvP is broken and this is precisely why. Late game TvP is broken mostly in favor of Protoss because of other reasons, which makes the whole matchup terrible.

How is the blind counter to 1/1/1 extremely vulnerable to anything else?

Since Coca would have been the Ro24 opponent for Monster or Curious, does this mean that the winner of this match gets a BYE into code S since Coca is out?

Game 2 between Monster and Curious, ZvZ!

Map is Daybreak.

0.00
MVPMonster is spawning as the red zerg in the bottom left position.
StarTale_Curious is spawning as the blue zerg in the top right position

4.00
Both players opening with a 10pool, and an extractor trick.
Both players also making 3 pairs of lings as the overlord pops.

Monster gets his gas a bit earlier than Curious, both players' queens pop at the same time.

The lings bypass eachother in the middle, and gets into the base of the opponent. Neither player does any substantial damage.

8.00
Both players also starting speed, Curious seems to be a bit behind overall.

Curious goes for a hatchery, while Monster goes for a baneling nest. Curious gets his own baneling nest as well.

Both players only producing zerglings. Curious also getting a spine crawler.

Curious gets another runby into Monster's base and kills a couple drones.

Monster morphing in banelings in front of Curious' base, Curious morphs to into the back of Monster's base but doesn't do any damage.

Attack from Monster is once again defended, one queen goes down.

12.00
Curious tries to take out two morphing banelings, but they finish just in time, takign out a large amount of zerglings.

Monster's own hatchery is finishing up now. Curious gets two zerglings into Monster's base to scout.

Monster goes into lair tech. Curious is morphing in zerglings and banelings whereas Monster has gone over to droning.

Curious attacks the front of Monster, gets a couple of drone kills with banelings, and kills off a queen. Scouts the spire coming in from Monster.

Curious just now getting his evolution chamber. Another attack from Curious results in massive amounts of drones getting taken out. Curious runs it with about 20 lings to attack the natural of Monster, forcing Monster to gg out.

Series goes to Curious, 2-0.
