Heavy gateway styles have been very popular for like 6 months now, people are still doing that sora-esque style and variations on it.

Most Zergs wanted to retain their souls when playing, but mass Void Rays became popular. And that led them to anger. Anger led them to hate. And hate led them to the Swarm Host.

Haven't we know that swarmhosts are obnoxiously good since a long time ago? Like stephano was beating mc with mass swarmhost in wcs 1.
No one likes playing them though so it wouldn't surprise me if zerg played that style unless they absolutely have to - like recently with protoss styles becoming so tight.
