The four remaining players of VSL entered the semifinals staring down a very busy two days. (Z)soO and (P)Super met in the first match, with (Z)Leenock and (T)INnoVation waiting in the wings. No matter who advanced, they wouldn’t have much time to rest and prepare with the final scheduled less than 24 hours after the day’s session completed.

soO completely dominated game one through the use of multipronged zergling pressure and drops. Super failed to get anything done with an oracle or warp prism which gave soO space to move into ling/bane/hydra unhindered and eventually deliver the killing blow.

Super went for glaives before his third in game two, but soO scouted it and shut down Super’s adepts and prism harass. Up 40 supply, soO attacked into Super's fourth, killing it and doubling his supply lead. The next wave of Zerg was enough to force Super from the game.

soO gambled on a zergling flood to close out the series, but Super held on. Having taken his third, his archon drops stunted soO’s economy by forcing a large number of roaches. Super added immortals and blink stalkers before going for a lethal attack at soO's fourth which gave him his first win of the series.

soO opted for a later third on Defender's Landing, while Super went for Glaives. Taking advantage of the map, soO went for another zergling flood. Walling both entrances in time wasn’t possible and soO walked right in, taking a 3-1 lead.

Super went for Glaives and a prism in game four, but soO scouted the robo and built a roach warren. Super’s adepts killed 12 drones, but soO was still ahead on workers, albeit on equal bases. Super attacked with an healthy immortal count, but soO's mutalisks killed the prism and, in tandem with the roaches, chased Super all the way home. His army wiped out, Super left the game, making soO the first finalist of VSL Season 2.

(Placeholder incase I fucked up HTML)

Leenock opted for roaches to start the second semifinal. INnoVation looked to be in trouble as Leenock launched wave after wave at him, but a drop in Leenock's natural gave INnoVation a foothold in the game. He moved out with bio/tank soon after to go up a game.

Leenock defense of INnoVation's opening hellbat push gave him room to tech into a terrifying infestor/ultralisk/hydralisk composition with which he took a number of good fights. INnoVation killed over 20 workers late in the game, but Leenock recovered and evened the series.

With things all tied up, Leenock scouted and defended INnoVation's proxy marines. The threat stayed, both players retreated and macroed. Having assembled a bio/mine army, INnoVation moved on and killed Leenock's third, a move which spelled doom for the Zerg.

INnoVation's proxy failed to bear fruit, but for the second game in a row he flawlessly macroed into a victory. Mutalisks offered no contest as INnoVation killed Leenock’s third while taking his own. From there he never looked back, holding a supply lead until the end of the game.

Leenock weathered INnoVation's early harass on Odyssey en route to assembling a ling/bane/hydra army which he lost fighting into tanks sieged on the high ground. INnoVation’s subsequent push into Leenock's natural took the match 4-1 despite the intervention of ultralisks.

"

The victory sets up another final between INnoVation and soO who have met twice with Premier event titles on the line, INnoVation coming out on top on both occasions.

soO can't beat Inno unless Inno doesn't take this match serious. But he usually washes the floor with soO. I see a 4-1 or 4-0 coming.
Why so serious?

If innovation wins this he will have won GSL, SSL and VSL, damn what a god.
That might make him the GOAT ?

Well it was olimoleague. While it's certainly not incredibly important, the players still participate there to win some money. So it means something, but yeah i wouldn't value it nearly as highly as offline matches

In some random unimportant game?

If your classification for important is that it be a Premier event final then you're looking at a rather small sample size and terms like usually aren't even accurate since INnoVation has won both. If you count random unimportant games (three of which you've just discounted because they don't fit your narrative while simultaneously using the others to build your argument), then yes, INnoVation wins the majority of the time. It's just strange that they could mean so much and so little to you at the same time.

Yes i meant GSL, SSL games. That two final was in HotS, it doesn't matter anymore, it was a long time ago. But if you consider GSL S1 where they were in same group Inno won in a quite one sided game. Just like in their finals in HotS. If you consider how hard Inno beated Solar in SSL finals, or in general how well Inno plays vs Zerg i can hardly see soO having much chance. There are quite a lot of premier tournaments, and i'm certain with that many games players can't have the time and energy to prepare for every single match in every single small tournament, to prepare as hard as for a GSL / SSL game. I admit i sounded quite cocky, but i never meant any disrespect.
Why so serious?

Logic points toward Innovation trashing soO in yet another finals. I don't even understand why this is a discussion lol. Might me my fanboyism blinding me though.

Whomever wins VSL is ipso facto declared the GOAT, so obviously the answer is yes. The real question is who succeeds Impact as the current GOAT.

INnoVation should win. I agree 100%. I was merely pointing out that soO has won two of their last three meetings. You can take from that whatever you want.
