[GENERAL]

1.1 Tournament

StarCraft II 2014 Copa America, is a tournament with an early online stage, three days a week, and an offline grand finale, and will be hereinafter referred to as Copa America 2014.

1.2 Participants

Anyone with a legal copy of the game is allowed to participate in Copa America 2014, and will be called hereinafter “Participant".

Only players of American nationality (South, Central and North) are allowed to participate. It is not allowed for players to participate based on their current residence.

1.3 Referees

Any person who is authorized by LocalStrike to manage Copa America 2014 based on these rules and regulations will be referred to hereinafter as "referee."

1.4 Commitments

1.4.1 All participants must have a legal copy of StarCraft II: Heart of the Swarm, with an account on the Americas Server in Battle.Net, in order to participate in Copa America 2014.

1.4.2 By Participating in Copa America 2014, players have full understanding of the rules and regulations of the tournament and the decisions made ​​by the referees. The implementation and monitoring of rules and regulations is responsibility of the referees. Any decision can replace the following rules and regulations to preserve the spirit of competition. Participants have to obey instructions given ​​by the referees.

1.4.3 Every participant acknowledges the right of LocalStrike to amend the rules and regulations, making adjustments at any time without prior notice.

1.4.4 Each participant must show the necessary respect towards other participants and referees. Insults, unfair behavior or disrespect towards referees and other participants, are actions not tolerated and will be punished with penalty points, warnings and / or an immediate disqualification for a period of time determined by the Copa America 2014 referees.

1.4.5 Each participant must be available during the entirety of 2014 Copa America until it´s completion. Longer absence due to well-founded reasons will need the approval of the referees.

1.4.6 Each participant must be at least 14 years old.

1.5 Game Account

1.5.1 Each participant is required to provide its account in the Americas Server of StarCraft II (nickname.identificador) which will be used to participate in the 2014 Copa America. Real- ID e-mails will not be accepted and may result in immediate disqualification from Copa America 2014.

1.5.2 Each participant is responsible for updating his game account if they use a new account to participate. It is forbidden to use a different account other than the one provided in the registration without prior notice and approval of an referee and may result in the immediate disqualification from Copa America 2014.

1.5.3 It is forbidden for participants to play with a "smurf" account to hide their public account. The use of a smurf account will result in disqualification from Copa America during the period of a season (1 month). By repeatedly disregarding this rule, the participant will be prohibited from participating in Copa America 2014. You are not permitted to participate in Copa America 2014 with accounts with names similar to " | | | | | | | ".

1.5.4 Participants who attend Copa America 2014, recognize the visibility of their account to the public.

1.5.5 In the event that a participant suffers a lock on his account, he must contact a referee, so that he can be authorized to use a different account than the one indicated in the site.

2.2.4 In the seeding of the first stage, each season, the 128 players will be ranked firstly based on ranking points from Copa America, and secondly, by the Americas Ladder server, dividing them into four qualifiers. First priority will be Copa America points. Second will be player League. Thirdly, player ladder points. Players will be numbered from 1 to 128, and will be faced 1 against 128, 2 against 127, 3 against 127 and so on. A player´s final standing will be will an average between his best rank and league, and his current position. (I.E.: If a player was Grand Master in a previous season, and this season he is Master, it will be considered the highest.)
