They've remained essentially silent since dodging the Q&A. here is the last mention of the SOS project I was able to find. http://www.ongamers.com/articles/extra-part-added-to-sons-of-starcraft/1100-204/ wow this is really interesting to see

i believe this guy originally had good intentions but upon the huge support received he basically ended up "scamming" the community using mostly of the budget on his personal stuff, and giving out SUCH CRAP for the budget he had received. not even the editing is good.
tastosis should have been more careful about who they backed up shame on that guy that spent money on himself

"Is a creator legally obligated to fulfill the promises of their project?
Yes. Kickstarter's Terms of Use require creators to fulfill all rewards of their project or refund any backer whose reward they do not or cannot fulfill. [...]"
The only thing they are required to fulfill, they didn't fulfill. They can provide a shit product. Fine. They can ignore a lot of promises. Fine. They cannot back out of the tier-rewards.
Keep in mind that this might be something which was added to the KS ToS after the SoS kickstarter (the date of the link I posted means shit), so that my point might be void.
Edit: grammars

I only donated because Tasteless vouched for the guy and asked for donations.
I feel robbed, not by Jeff but by Tasteless. I didn't know who Jeff was but I trusted Tasteless, its quite sad they have stayed silent throughout which has confirmed our suspicions.

This is true...this is why i dont support them anymore. From my point of view they do not care at all about this documentary. If they want esports to be taken seriously...they did horribly wrong with this project.

I understand that public figures in this community probably hate the community in general. They probably have good reason to. But I have to say that Tasteless' level of care for SC2 has not been very high for a long time. I'd be surprised if he has played more than a couple 1v1 ladder games in the past 3 years lol. He's a caster for the best league in the world and his game knowledge is not high. Combine that with the lack of communication with this kickstarter and you sort of get a bad taste in your mouth (pun intended).
EDIT: not a bad pun for the 2500th post .

Hey all, just fyi I interviewed Tastosis about this topic and got some answers that might help the discussion here: link

Hmm. So I wasn't the only one who was disappointed with the film. Sad, but I also sort of feel for the director, it really sucks realizing you're in over your head.

When i see statements like this:
Our email to Alejos has thus far gone unanswered. I always wonder of how much of a real effort is made to contact the person.
interesting read nonetheless.

I emailed him, I searched for his twitter or a personal website. Couldn't find any contact information beyond his sonsofstarcraft email account, and that was by trolling through his reddit profile comments. From what I can tell the last time he made any public comments about the project were last November.

I mean, I can, but the scope of the article was to get Nick and Dan's thoughts and reveal that they planned to hold up their end with T-shirts. If people are interested in an interview with Alejos I can try, though I do get the impression that he doesn't want to be contacted at all. Regardless, I'll update the article if I find out anything.

What I find interesting is how frank Artosis seems to be about this. In some places he really let Alejos have it.
Tasteless was understandably understated on his criticisms of the film / project given that he grew up with the guy (nice that this article didn't gloss over that fact like past ones).

the reason i asked the question by the way (and thanks for the response) was because someone did that to me on a case i worked on. they called, left a voice mail and then printed the next day. i didnt have time to respond and was like "wtf dude."

First of all: thanks for the article, quite liked it! Second, I would love it you at least would try to get in contact with Alejos. Would be interesting to get some additional infos (and if it is only as how he reacted)

I wonder if we'll be able to get refunds. I was a $55 backer.

And this isn't even _that_ bad for a kickstarter failure. At least something came out of this.

Well I'm sure he's happy. Got a holiday, equipment and experience out of it. Shows just where the "You can do anything" attitude leads when you lack forward-thinking, experience and talent.

Pretty much what I expected and a rough experience for everyone. Glad Dan and Nick are going to get people shirts too. The DVD and poster would be nice, but since the movie was such junk, t shirt is the most important part.
A bummer,. Good movies are to make I guess.
