Basically, this injury is "Chris Bosh Lite" for the Kings. It is bad and the outcome is ambiguous. I wonder if the Kings will reveal where exactly the rupture is? if its at the insertion point then Gay is in for a long road back.

Considering he's already 30... tearing the achilles is already a year-long recovery, and the consensus seems that it takes 1-2 years to really recover from it. At his age, there's basically no chance he's the same player.

Sucks, because he's a nice player/

I just want to say that this graph really doesn't show anything interesting :D. You can't just slap a linear regression on a bunch of points and call it a trend. Very weak R^2 and the author finds a way to use it to say that Drummond should maybe think of being more consistent. First, causation != correlation, Drummond might very well try a lot of different spots precisely because he doesn't shoot well (the article never even hints at that possibility). Second, all bad FT shooters seem to spread evenly on the horizontal axis, so what can you say? DJ is at the same spot deviation as the best shooter on the graph, should he maybe think of trying to shoot all over the place to see if that helps? (the answer is, yes he should haha)

The end of the article rings like an admission that the point was moot to begin with.

I hate to agree with you. I really appreciate MassHysteria's effort and most times the info he provides to this thread is interesting but sometimes copy pasting a graph without actually understanding the math (or the lack of it in this case) behind it is not the wisest move.

Nah, I agree with you guys too, I didn't think it was a great either. One of the guys from that site is one of my fav follows on Twitter and I just had felt he has had good stuff that I had never put up(I really have only posted something I see that day once the season started). (@presidual)

Actually, when I was reading zenithm's post I was wondering if he even read what the author wrote because he pretty much admitted as much. I read the last sentence though 8D.

@andrewlt, It isn't the reason they lost by 50, but they do specially bad when they play without D'Angelo Russell. They don't have another PG that can come in and start the offense like he would. His cool-joe play out there at times does anger me though.

Although I suppose the Lakers can still go on a run and get the 8th seed, I am kind of just hoping the basketball gods have decided to bless the franchise and let them keep their top-3 pick and Lonzo Ball.

They also get to keep their 2019 first-round pick if they land this top-3 pick. They would make it two second-rounders to the Magic instead (Dwight Howard). 2 of their next 3 drafts riding on these next few months. I might be calling for more Metta World Peace and Mozgov minutes in a couple of weeks.

a few weeks/months ago i said 1 of Minnesota's most important priorities was getting a D-League team. Welp, they acquired a D-League team and now Memphis is without a D-League affiliate. It'll be interesting to see what Memphis does.

Lebron is coasting as GM right now. He'll pick it up as the trade deadline approaches. He'll start showing up on off days in a $25,000 anchorman suit carrying 5 smart phones.

I can't believe the Raptors are on a 4 game losing streak with a superstar like Terrence Ross getting all these extra minutes due to all the injuries.

regarding the analysis of free throw % and its factors. some guys are analyzing FT% against the inflation levels of the balls. Its the NBAs version of deflate-gate except there are no rules around deflating balls down to 7 psi. its pretty much total anarchy.

"the crew chief ensures that each ball is inflated to within 7.5 and 8.5 psi. As far as I know, those measurements are not recorded, and it is not standard practice to re-measure the pressure in-game."

RJ outpeformed Ross in every aspect of the game by a large margin in last year's playoffs and he will do so again this year. Its not even close. All this has been posted. RJ is proven playoff producer. Ross is a giant erratic question mark come playoff time. All this has been posted.

You can laugh a little bit at Lebron. Clearly the problem was defense. It makes me a little upset, though, because we have 6/7 top 20ish players on 2 teams and one of them thinks that they need more because the other team is better.

Durant, Curry, Dray, Klay vs Kyrie and Bron. Love is not close to top 20. Everyone in the league is at a talent deficit vs GS, including Cleveland, can't blame Lebron for trying to get some more help after GS went from Barnes -> Durant in the offseason.
