@Moonbear: Yea my mana's really wonky, and I could use more fetchlands, but 2 Windswepts all I have atm. I'll drop the Treetop, just was always a fan of a that card and enjoyed using it. Sakura/BoP were kind of there as a budget way to just ramp up. I use the Witness over Snapcasters because while it may be slower, being able to grab creatures and not exiling them just seemed way to appealing to me. I do understand the choice of going Snap>Witness though. Farseek is there due to my own lack of fetchlands, as well as a ramp. I guess I could cut this+Tribe Elders/BoP for more relevant threats/Sylvans. More Abrupt Decays in main sound good. The one random ORing is there just because I wanted to be cute and have another available Sun Titan target. The 4C Gifts you posted down seem way more leaning towards U/counterspells, which is the version I actually didn't want to make lol. Anyway, thanks so much Cixah/MB for taking time to evaluate and give out pointers for this scrubby deck. Thanks again! | ||

This isn't Standard where you can sit around and trade hay-makers and removal at each other. Don't get too cute. You play Hero's Downfall on a flipped Delver of Secrets, the other guy Remands and you just eat another attack to the face. It hasn't done anything Abrupt Decay wouldn't do here at a cheaper cost and more effectively. Or if some UWR scrub taps out for a Planeswalker what does Hero's Downfall do that your existing Maelstrom Pulse didn't do anyway and also has a nice upside? If you're trying to play at instant speed on their turn then resolving a Gifts and ignoring the Planeswalker also just seems better here. If you want a deck of 1-ofs you have fun with I mean sure but be aware you're actively choosing to be suboptimal cards to have fun making redundant Gifts piles and show off how many 1-ofs you own rather than winning the game. If you're going creatureless or low creature style then you need to lean on Blue more heavily to keep people honest against you. If you prefer ramping, then you can try a midrange style deck which uses a core of Sylvan Caryatid, Kitchen Finks and Thragtusks to create board presence and force people to spend their resources dealing with your board. A lot of life gain and 2-for-1s against aggro too which is great. Then you fire off a Gifts to win when the coast is clear. If you go this route though it limits the space in the rest of your deck so you have to be even more disciplined about the 1-ofs you put in your deck.
