That's because a few maps are genuinely terrible.
And by a few I mean all of the maps that aren't the new Spider Queen map, because after playing that one I wish all maps were that one.

If anybody would like to critique my 4C Gifts deck I'm currently running for Modern, I would very much appreciate it. Kind of just throwing it out there, maybe somebody will give a minute to look it over or not.

The way I put it down seems messy, and doesn't help much sorry lol.
A lot of weird/stupid choices there like Arcane Sanctum, Farseek, Darkblast, but I'm basically just using what I have/what I think works.
Stuff like Duress/ORing are there since I don't have Thoughtseizes/Detention Sphere, as well as other budget choices.
Also, a FUCKTON of singletons too.
Was considering making this a more midrange creature heavy version with Reliquarys/Seige Rhinos, but I have no Goyfs and this version is funner imo.
A ton of UWR Control, Pyromancer Storm, Burn, and Infect get played here.
edit: I've also created a pretty cookiecutter MonoU Tron deck with everything but Ugin, but again, not as fun as this deck for me.

Your Deck wants goyf, Your deck wants Snaps, your deck want Vclique. Duress is fine (Thoughtsieze is obvs better but you know why). Darkblast seems like a weird place for your deck to be, while you have a lot of ways to make use of the dredge stuff which is fine, you have almost no Maindeck answer to Grafdigger's Cage. Your deck has quite a few directions it wants to go and is REALLY toolboxy, which is fine but what do you do against Monored in game 1? Concede to turn 1 mountain? I feel like your aggressive matchups aren't always in your favor.
What's your board look like?

My sideboard I'm still tinkering with, but I'm thinking so far:
2x Thagtusk, 1x Reinforcements, 2x Purges, 2x Negates, 2 Kataki's, 1x Relic, 1x Tormods, 4x other undecided cards.
I have 2 Snapcasters, but I've always preferred the Witness. Maybe I'll swap them for awhile to see how they work.
I don't think I can run Cliques (nor do I have them anyway).
And yea, with the aggro decks with burn, I do get stomped pretty easily, barring a gdlk draw. Not sure what exactly I could take out/put in to make it better.
Didn't even think of Verdict over WoG, I kind of just threw in WoG when making this deck forgetting about it. The mana might be stretched, but I'm quite sure it'll be better in the long run.
Mmmm maybe some disenchant-esque SB cards for the Grafdiggers?
edit: Wow, I just realized I should probably run Stony Silence over Kataki now eh?

If you're going to go the thragtusk route you want some amount of Resto angels too. The card is simply too synergistic with the majority of your deck (thrag, snaps or ewit) kataki and stony have different roles and one is a bit more searchable for you than the other. With the academy ruins it is much easier for your deck to look into recurable threats off it like solemn and wurmcoil. Both of which seem to be on board with what you are trying to do as well as help shore up your aggressive matches.
I think you also want some amount if heroes downfalls out of the board but that's mostly because I don't know how you beat a resolved ugin or Elspeth relyably.

There is a point where I needed to stop playing Elite and I have clearly passed it. But let's keep going and see what happens.
I just want to be allowed to buy the Imperial Clipper but It's one of the two ships that require you to have rank within a major faction. Not even that great a ship but I love the look of it.

Isn't Elite: Dangerous cool? it's a game where i had Oculus, a comfy chair i could lean back in, and a flight stick (maybe the identical one in the ship), i'd be playing for weeks at a time.

It's a very lively game in the sense of how the inhabited systems work. Things that happen in the news feed, actually happen in the game. A week ago or so a news feed mentioned a in construction capital ship having a firing test of it's turret systems. They malfunctioned and fired on the nearby station. The station and ship traded blows for about three hours. Sure enough, you can find video's of the Capital Ship nevermore wanted for shooting at the Station it's being constructed at. And if you headed over there afterwords you could bring in metals to help fix it as a community goal. Made a good amount of money like that.
Not to mention stuff like system civil wars and the like that can be sparked and influenced by players.(That's how the recently ended Lugh Event started. The dev's just rolled with it and tossed in big paying community goals)

Because of stuff like the vents, or because of the way the objective works?
I kinda hate Dragonshire because of how even more reliant on teammates it is than usual, while requiring them to remain spread out.
On the other hand I don't mind Haunted Mines (maybe because that one I have a better grasp of tempo and how to play it) and I've had my share of comebacks after shaky 1st-2nd golems.
The hallows make Nova cancerous, and as much as I like Blackheart's bay in general for the objectives' layout and count, that's another map you automatically lose if your team can't coordinate because of how much damage the ship does.
