I'll cover a few that have been Standard legal and actually done decently. One of the most successful styles of TurboFog was a deck called Owling Mine. The name is a pun based on the two key cards in the deck - Howling Mine and Ebony Owl Netsuke. As you can probably guess from reading these two cards, the entire premise of the deck is to have your opponent have lots of cards in their hand and then have each copy of Ebony Owl Netsuke you have in play then deal 4 damage to their face. The rest of the deck is card draw to find your kill conditions, and stuff that slows your opponent down. Note that some of these cards such as Evacuation fulfil a dual role in both slowing your opponent down as well as setting up the Owl kill. It's because this deck pro-actively tries to actually kill your opponent that it's probably also the only one that's actually done decently at the competitive level. (Well, that and at the time the power level of Standard was very different to what it is now. Still!) The more "traditional" flavours of TurboFog however rely on milling or decking your opponent out. Recent examples include this deck where you just sit around not doing anything until your opponent runs our of cards. You'll notice the Elixir of Immortality which is present so you don't actually run out of cards first, especially when you're drawing so heavily in order to find your fogs and stuff. It also has the useful effect of putting all your fogs back into your deck so you can reuse them if you need to. Of course if you prefer winning games in less than 40+ turns there are other TurboFog variants that have been used recently. This includes this deck which plays Stonehorn Dignitary and repeatedly bounces it to lock your opponent out of their combat phase. And eventually you find a power card like Entreat the Angels and just kill them. Or if you prefer your decks to have 100% more jank in them then you might find the this deck hilarious. The entire point of the deck is just to play fog cards until you assemble all the Guildgate cards and then use Maze's End to win. To be clear though... these decks are generally very terrible and are only even remotely playable in Standard when there are enough Fog style cards that you can run a critical mass to stall a game out long enough that the rest of your deck can actually do something. And at this point you're mostly an inferior control deck. You only really play these decks because you're a Johnny type player. On a side note, I do recommend you read up on all the material about player profiles like Timmy/Johnny/Spike and Melvin/Vorthos since it's pretty cool. Also, if you actually liked my post but said to yourself "If only a Designer at WotC tried to talk seriously about a deck archetype that is completely silly" then here's a freebie. I mean... If you're massing guild gates then why not just do it in style with Door to Nothingness? And that article was already linked. And I'm pretty sure I'm a timmy. Then again I find myself gravitating to U/B control style and I feel like almost everyone starting out must be a timmy. Hmm.

The comp isn't just protecting Kog, it's buffing him so much that he is in your front line. Typically 'protect the AD' would involve massive peel and kiting backwards(not that Lulu/Janna/Nunu can't also accomplish that if it were required). Kog'Maw being what fed Cho'Gath wishes he could be. ![]() It was nowhere near Juggermaw for Dig wei2, because they relied on Mundo for their frontline. I can't stand the broad misuse of buzz words such as "epic". I typed "like" initially but changed it to "such as" because of your posts, even if it's not the same usage.
