Nah, I stopped playing League, I'll maybe play a game later this month/early next month to avoid decay, but that's it.

Welp, HS keeps crashing on me because I'm disenchanting too many cards too quickly I guess lol >.>

i played like 5 hartstone games before getting annoyed by the need to buy cards.
At least in league the champions are relatively balanced, but in heartstone you are screwed if you dont have good cards.

I am allergic to that stuff, either its real free to play or i pay you 50 euro and get everything.

Soooo, you want Dota then instead of League? Because League and Hearthstone are very similar in that regard to needing FOTM/Season to actually advance past a certain point.

There isn't really a need to buy cards. Arena exists and even if that's not your cup of tea, Constructed is fine even with budget cards as long as you're focused on improving your play and not overly focused on people having better cards than you.

Honestly, you can get further in Hearthstone without paying for anything than you can in League if you consider that you can't even play ranked without getting level 30 first. In the amount of hours of game time it takes to even get level 30 in League, you'd have long since amassed a considerable collection of cards in HS too.

Like, sure, you'll hit a bottleneck if you're aiming for Legend, but I'm pretty sure a lot of people enjoy League just fine too without personally aiming for Challenger.

Considering how many classes Trump has taken to legend F2P I think it's hard to argue that hearthstone is pay2win. It might not be as easy anymore with the importance of the new Naxx cards though.

If you don't care much about rank I don't think "pay2win" matters in the slightest either. I've run some pretty stupid decks in the lower ladder and casual mode and except when my stupid deck is especially stupid or my luck is especially bad I've rarely felt like I can't win. It's just a matter of not letting yourself get *too* salty when you get 3x leeroy shadowstepped.

I'm gonna be honest, I've never liked using pro/very high tier players as examples of why something is/isn't very important. Yes it's possible to get Challenger in LoL with like 1 basic runepage and it's possible to hit Legend in HS with some cheap(cost) deck, and it's possible to play X F2P grindy MMO without spending a dime if you do everything just right, but that information is fucking useless to the average, and even most of the people you'd describe as 'dedicated,' player.

I think the point isn't that it allows you to get to a rating that represents your actual skill, but it allows you to get close enough that you can still 1) reasonably enjoy the game because you are close enough to your actual rating that matchmaking can give you games against players that are close enough to you in skill for the game to be interesting (and not just a lopsided match made even by an enormous handicap), and 2) reasonably practice all the same game skills that you would be practicing if you had all the cards you wanted.

You will lose games based on your lack of cards/runes/champions/etc. But you will still get matchmade games *close enough* to be meaningful.
