edit: Somewhere between 32-38 is the average for top 10 medical schools. For schools rated in the top 11-25 range the average mcat is around 30-35. So he has a good shot at some great schools if he has a good GPA and extra curriculars. A 30 will be good enough for any school not in the top 25 imo.

I only knew losingid8 was in podiatry cuz of his blog post, everyone else I have no idea. Originally planned on taking a year off, might take another year off to work and make some money, and chill out a bit more. Don't think my parents are going to be too happy with that, but.... yolo. Isn't wave an optometrist or something?

Isn't wave an optometrist or something? My sister is a MD (currently working in ICU) and her bf is a GP. Both took a few years off inbetween finishing med school, definitely recommended. Sister is currently in a bit of a crisis regarding which specialim she's going to pick, but she's found a temp research place at ICU. She's told me ICU is only recommended if you can handle lots of people dying and huge amounts of hours.

My brain pretty fried from college, and studying for MCAT.
