Does anyone have the link to the liquipedia page explaining the Ro8 seeding?

I think it was the two highest ranked first places against the two lowest ranked seond places.
Dark and Serral are fixed for the best first places already and right now the lowest second places are soo and maru.
So if Trap or Neeb get second tomorrow the bracket does not need to be drawn at all as people from the same group can not meet in the ro8.

It would be:

Serral vs. Soo
Dark vs. Maru

on opposite side of the brackets

and

Reynor vs Trap/Neeb
Elazer/Rogue vs Classic

Would be a pretty hype bracket !

I dont believe that s correct.
I think there are two rules, one being 1st seed gets a 2nd seen, the other being that you cant meet a group-stage opponent again. And the rest is "random"
(And maybe a third rule, that the 2 highest ranked are starting on the opposite side, tho i think that s not actually a rule)

Serral vs soO confirmed (either as first or third match in the Ro8)
also Reynor vs 1st of gr. D (either as second or as fourth match in the Ro8)

Oh, cool, that makes sense

sry, did a mistake in my post, of course its classic who will face the 1st place of gr. D and not Reynor
Reynor either plays Neeb/Trap (if Neeb/Trap get 2nd in group D) or Maru (if Rogue or Elazer get 2nd in gr. D)

Hm, I don't really like those pairings. I wanted to see new matchups(Reynor against the korean Zerg) but it seems like we'll add new chapters to existing sagas.

Foreigners are now 17-21 in maps against Koreans and 4-5 in series. This is super impressive in comparison to the 0-X it might have been 4 or 5 years ago.

4-5 years ago there would be 1 to 4 foreigners as they wouldn't have reserved space
(well technically they would, but Polt and others would be here instead :D )
I imagine France should be able to take this unless Lilbow is busy practicing for Starcraft III. | KadaverBB is my fairy ban mother.

yeah since its in my userspace i have it: (Wiki)User:Hjpalpha/wip11

btw. the matches themself will be determined tomorrow without drawing (that is because Reynor can’t face Classic and Dark can’t face soO) but the seeding within that bracket (aka does Serral get Seed 1 or Dark and does Reynor get Seed 3 or the Winner of group D)

Thanks for clearing it up!
I knew I had seen it somewhere.
But yeah it is pretty weird of Blizzard to not publish this rules in advance.
When it comes to rules transparency is key to avoid confusion and conspiracy theories.

That would honestly be amazing. soO would be much more deserving of a blizzcon given his playstyle and history in SC2.

I still can't believe that hero threw that game against reynor - especially with the whole warping in about half a kilometre too far in front of the army. He will remember that mistake for a long time, I can't even imagine how it feels

What if Reynor wins BlizzCon? That would be amazing too.

I was thinking that there must be a historical pattern of a foreigner getting an upset in the first match, only to lose the decider rematch in GSL-style group play. Maybe it's just my memory playing tricks on me, or some recency bias.

If I didn't miss anything, considering Premier tournaments only, it should be 37-23 in favor of koreans, in total.
In WCS America it happened the most, and there was like a 9-0 streak in early 2014.
Not really that bad for foreigners, after all.

Had to watch the replay since I had no time to watch the games live. Too bad Heromarine did not make it through, was really hoping he'd advance...

That beein said, he looked kinda lost vs Zerg. The first two games against Reynor were great, maybe the best we've seen so far but for some reason I didn't feel like Gabe had a plan after minute ~4 or 5. In both games he just held on as long as he could instead of actually doing sth. to improve his position.
