Actually this season of GSL it happened in 5 out of 8 Ro32 groups, that was pretty silly. I think you counted every reverse win, not just the ones where the favourite lost in the end. That happened twice in that case (unless Dream was viewed as a favourite over Ryung? I don't exactly remember) Yes, I did count all of them. Favorites are often a matter of opinion. Between RagnaroK and TaeJa, who was the favorite? Was it TaeJa who had just announced his retirement, or RagnaroK who we never really see much but we know has good ZvT? Also depending on how the first series looks, sometimes people don't stay the favorite I think. It's kinda ambiguous. Man it sucks we have to wait another day for the games to begin.
Sure some matches are ambiguous but I think Stats is pretty clearly favored against Snute...

Although I'm not quite sure about Stats' PvZ, he seems to hate that match-up. A lot.

I even put my LB (I got out of the top 100 with ByuN poor performances in Kespa cup and cross finals) where my mouth is by voting for my predictions.
It will make the games even better haha.

Yeah but how can you really predict a bo3 to go one way then repeated and go the other way? Even if the players are 50/50 you'd "usually" favour whoever wins the first series

In that case the 2nd series is often less close than the first. The win into loss in the rematch I think is part psychological advantage (the guy who lost the first match comes off a win into the decider match while the other lost his last game) and part adjusting to the opponent. Sometimes the first time your builds just didn't work or his builds catch you off guard. And then when he tries again you know what to expect.

Maybe you think one player will do better with the knowledge of the games of the first series.

Ooh that's a tough one. I could totally see that happening, but I could also see that failing with potentially Snute, Nerchio, and Neeb getting out. It reminds me of a sigbet where someone bet that no foreigner would get out of the ro16 in KeSPA cup, and that was with much worse odds.
