Big streaks make the kings feel like kings and the games more meaningful for me.

As far as the players concerned, Byun's run was more impressive today. Just my opinion. Nercio's was also impressive, undoubtedly. Great games, thank you TB.

Yeah apart from ByuN and the code A terran Nerchio had not many scary opponents, since JAGW are free wins outside of proleague (jk). Myungsik is meh-meh but he had good results recently tho...

Stopping the streak of ByuN and killing 7 other players including koreans right after a ballsy interview is amazing tho :D. Gratz ByuN, Nerchio and of course MaNa.

Hopefully people will stop treating foreigners as shit/pushovers from now on until Blizzcon. Of course they are globally better, but foreigners are catching up with the new WCS system, as well as koreans worsening due to new wcs system/lack of money&competitions as well as the reduced player base in KR.

I missed quite a lot of games but even reading liquipedia was hype as fuck with the insane streaks, thanks again TB and all the people involved making such events happen. Thanks as well to the casters that enhance the competition with their casting and that put the hours necessary to cover that much StarCraft (other events included).

lol is that a joke? Ryung was in Ro4 in gsl and has been wrecking zergs this last few months, and myungsik has consistantly shown this year that he can beat any top player. Maru may be in a bit of a slump but his TvZ has always been world-class. Rogue is in a similar spot as maru, but never really fell off in ZvZ and has beaten the two best zergs in the world in the last 2 months.

Honestly I can't remember a foreigner ever delivering such a great performance against top level koreans, maybe scarlett and stephano at their peaks but the sheer amount of back to back top koreans Nerchio just took out is unprecedented.

Ryung was ro 8 afaik and hasn't got an especially good TvZ?
Such a great performance what? MLorD's one was better imo, especially since stakes were higher.
Do you really compare online bo1 to the offline performances of Stephano and NaNi? (You said Scarlett but she isn't top 2 foreigner goat so why bother)
His TvZ has been world class but it proves my point that it's easier for zergs to upset terrans than the contrary, not much more.
Myungsik potentially beating top players doesn't make beating him a particularly nice feat.
Aligulac wise, ByuN streak is indeed better, I don't see how it is a problem :o.

great tournament again
storyline of 3 kings in 20 matches - 2 of them foreigners - was great

as much as I don't like Demuslim as a person, his analysis and casting is rather good
well and TB is TB, great as always, thx for this treat to you and to Blizzard for sponsoring

lol. Let's stop pretending that Totalbiscuit's Bo1 tournament is anything more than pure entertainment, Bo1's mean nothing as far as who is better is who arguments and it should remain that way.

This kind of discussion ruins the pure fun factor of what the Shoutcraft Kings tournament is all about. Nerchio will get his chance at Blizzcon and KESPA Cup to show just how far he has or hasn't come. Stop using this tournament to indicate anything, we'll get to see some real shit soon.

Winning a bo1 is meaningless but winning 8 in a row shouldn't just be discarded as nothing.

In what way was that implied from what I said?

Nerchio beat some good players yesterday, I'm not denying he didn't. Stephano also beat herO during a few Shoutcrafts ago despite being retired.

You can't use any of that in the "foreigners vs koreans" discussion because the format just doesn't translate into offline competitive tournaments.

Is it cool that Nerchio won 8 in a row? Yea absolutely it is, it's a cool streak and it could be an indicator that he really has improved but we don't need to use this event to make that argument when he has KESPA cup coming up which the fact he qualified for it is far more impressive to me than his kill streak in shoutcraft.

Let's just stop using this event in this whole foreigner vs korean thing. It's really not appropriate for it, these matches are fun and this tournament is fun, let's just leave it at that.

Cause we all know that if Nerchio had lost in one game, we'd be talking about how bad foreigners are.

I agree that bo1 don't mean very much, so Neeb losing in one game isn't indicative of much or Nerchio winning isn't as big as winning against prepared Koreans, but it is annoying when people act like they're right about the foreigner level when foreigners lose in these events, but when foreigners win, they're like, "it doesn't mean anything."

Exactly. Also, if a foreigner wins, Koreans are always laggy or jetlagged or tired or something. If a Korean wins it's "OMG FOREIGNERS SUCK AND ALL EXCUSES ARE NULL AND VOID"

Nerchio really tore it up, I don't really get what people are discussing here though. That the winstreak doesn't mean anything or that ByuNs streak was actually more impressive.
ByuN is the freaking GSL champion, is having a worse streak than the current GSL champion in some way an insult =P
In the last three shoutcraft kings koreans have taken 35 wins and foreigners 25. If nothing else I would call it an indicator that its not a huge divide, not to mention that we should take into consideration the way that Nerchio won those games. It was mostly off of the back of standard or macro play which is really impressive.
