Besides, now you still have what, 4-5 GSL/OSLs (?), same amount seasonal finals, 1 global final, WCG korea (if anyone cares about that), plus the couple foreign tournaments that still matter, like dreamhack finals. I'm specifically referring to Korean tournaments since I much prefer their broadcast model to the 2-3 day events. This year we had 1 GSL(WoL, pretty much irrelevant now and the finalists are no longer doing well). 2 WCS GSL'S, 1 WCS OSL and WCG Korea(Hey, Sora was fun). In 2011 There were 9 GSL's, Blizzard Cup, WCG Korea, two Arena of Legends events and probably some others I'm forgetting. Foreign tournaments hardly ever build good rivalries, the only exception I can think of is polt vs stephano. Plus three korean seasonal finals and a global finals. You could almost count the american seasonal too, since it's mostly koreans, but don't have to. You can't compare to SC2 2011, the scene was too inflated, but compared to BW it's really not that bad. And its the first year of WCS. You pretty much get 9 premier tournaments with almost only koreans. I just hate that it took away from Korea though. GSL had all the best players in the same place all year. Then our GSL heroes left. MVP, Nestea (maybe too late for him), and MC all gone.
GSL has lost so much in terms of fan base and in terms of storyline, take for example the fact that all of the multiple time GSL champions(9 seasons worth of champions in total) are no longer competing in it. How can you sell your tournament to people when the past 4, 3 and 2 time champion's leave it to play in another region? Innovation and Soulkey have done an okay job of filling the gap but they don't bring with them the same history and fanbase, It's just not the same.

This game is nearly as bad as his last series against Soo. I'd say I was surprised, but then I'd be lying.

PartinG is becoming the second Rain in term of playstyle, the way they win amazingly and they way they crumble horribly in a series

Just the open season really, I don't consider any of his other 1st place finishes to be inflated. Maybe some people would consider the 35k for the IEM WC to be inflated but keep in mind Mvp won 50k for Blizzcon, a tournament with only 2 Koreans in it. parting's BWC/WCG was probably the most inflated run, he beat one korean to get it haha He might've only beat one Korean in BWC but he beat quite a few good ones to win the entire series + Show Spoiler [Full list] +He went through sC, Alive, Curious three times, Seed, Macsed, RorO, two different Hero's, Socke, Illusion, Scarlett, Suppy, Sen and finally Creator He got paid for that already though Innovation (should he win WCS Global Finals) will have beaten a shit tonne more people for the same cash prize It just means the easy money is no longer a thing in sc2, those days are over. You can be as good as innovation and only win 80k in a year(this is how much he's made so far). Mvp won $250,000 in 2011. Yeah I was just looking at that then.. Soulkey isnt even in the top 50 earners in SC2 despite how good he has been for almost 12 months. Is that actually true? god that's terrible. 20k for first place in GSL nowadays is so little compared to 9 gsl's in 2011 + blizzard cup allowing mvp to win 3 gsl's, take 2nd in another and collect many other smaller prizes throughout the year. Not to mention the foreign tournaments like blizzcon/MLG/WCG. (I know my reply a bit late haha) But yeah man, he's 60th.. which is below TOP ffs... as well as Kas, Sjow, Xigua, Vortix, Socke, Hasuobs. Even below Fruitdealer fruitdealer won a hugeee open season though
hahaha yeh he's still top 20... MC, NesTea and Fruitdealer cashed in

sigh. Maru vs Soulkey has to happen, that is the only decent final left for this GSL.
