The usual: Don't flame casters or players. Don't discuss balance in this or any LR thread. Don't call your fellow posters idiots. Be excited, happy and entertained.

I'm not too fan of Time Warp's design, it has the same problem Force field, concussive shell and fungals have, it prevents micro without really doing anything.
It would be cooler if it increased your own units' move speed instead, allowing Protoss to kite more effectively with stalkers and pull back sentries more quickly or something.

God knows we shouldn't have any abilities that slow down or impede moment in SC2. Because other RTS games don't have those, especially BW. Only abilities that speed units ups to blinding speeds.

Yeah man, hard to find a BW game without Ensnare and Maelstrom being spammed left and right! Good thing you were here to point this out, much appreciated!

Edit: Oh, and Lockdown, another fan favorite.

What about stasis? Remember the spell that just closed down a chunk of your army. 30 supply vs 30 supply, not any more. Now is 30 vs 10 and then 20 once stasis runs out.

I excluded it based on the fact that it doesn't let the affected units be damaged, a property all the other abilities (both SC2 and BW) share, and therefore served a different function. Stasis wasn't really used to stop micro either, but to disable key units for the duration of an engagement. Again, unlike everything else mentioned.

One could also point out how all the micro-stopping BW abilities belonged to high-tech, expensive spellcasters and often required additional research. As opposed to FF, Concussive Shell, Time Warp, and Fungal to a lesser extent.

But I'm sure you knew that already, and your "Adding more micro-stopping abilities to SC2 is great because BW had Maelstrom!" argument was offered purely in jest.

I did know all of that, actually, I just didn't care. But after three years of "they need to remove spells that reduce micro" I have gotten tired of hearing it. Its the same thing over and over from arm chair game designers and its really dumb.

Blizzard did change/nerf "micro stopping abilities" to one of the most commonly complained about ability:
Fungal Growth.

Instead of being instant, it can be dodged now (it's a projectile) and the masses cheered!

Slows aren't too "unmicroable" compared to something like Fungal growth.

Also about the BW debate, nearly every slow or stun ability were rarely used. (Also Dark Archons were good with Maelstrom but it was an issue of risk/reward because going DA against Mutalisk instead of just staying Corsairs was risky.)

(Also due to lack of smart cast in BW, things like using Ghost for lockdown (which was rarely used anyway) was actually hard to do because you had to click each one of them separately to cast it on one mech unit separately.)

Here's why projectile Fungal is a huge change, it can be dodged... like this Arbiter dodging two Science Vessels' EMP like a boss.

A lot of complaints about SC2 are valid. Most of them from WoL did get fixed in HotS due to feedback (most of the new units, besides Tempest, were intentionally designed not to add to the deathball which is one of the most complained about things in SC2).

I agree though, the way Blizzard has done HotS is really good considering they stuck true to most of the things they defend (I like the fewer resources per base idea but it is a huge drastic change to SC2, the way HotS is done is that most things aren't changed too much while reducing the issues WoL had like how most of the time it was just max to 200/200[especially in any match up involving Protoss that wasn't PvP], then one fight, then game over).

RorO defeated Life himself.

RorO has the potential to be the next Zerg bonjwa.

Funny thing is that the only match up life can play to win is TvZ
He can easily beat Last in Ro8
His real competition is Bomber/MC
and then one of Parting/Flash/Rain/Innovation.

Entirely doable, although the final challenge seems to be the ultimate test

That's making a massive assumption that none of these guys make an effort to adjust. Every athlete has a program they do in order to deal with this. Unless he just got off the plane the very same day then I guess this does not apply. But more than physically, he's disciplined to sleep are a particular time.

Life, who can't play past midnight or whatever in Korea, changing his sleep schedule for a foreign tournament? I find that unlikely.

Well, I can't explain how of all the various sports that I've watched, not one constantly brings up players being jetlagged.

I like Symbol a lot (and also hate Roro more than anything else on earth), but I don't think there is a good argument for Roro/Symbol > Life, except that they both made the finals in a tournament where Life didn't.

Do you honestly believe that these underaged progamers don't play SC2 past midnight in Korea?
Its just a matter of using an adult's account. You think they can't find someone above the minimum age to register a game for them to practice at night? When progaming is their job?

I have to agree with this, as much as Symbol used to be a sick nerd baller in mid 2012 I haven't been inspired by his play in a long time.

In the early game I saw Life suicide 2 lings to scout for the for 2 widow mines. Can you not hold position them? If you can, why would Polt not do that?

Don't be so quick to dismiss Last. I predict Last would at least put up a good fight against Life if Life does beat Polt.

Why are we acting like he's been playing through the open bracket all day? He beat Minigun in like ten minutes. He might be sleepy, but it's not like he is playing below his regular level.

Wish Polt would stop doing the proxy reaper build now.
