From that series SoulKey seems to be an aggressive Zerg, favouring early baneling ling attacks. Revival did better when the games lasted longer into Roach/Hydra/Infestor. Game 3 was pretty back and forth. Revival won the crucial engagements in that game and that proved the difference.

Good night, folks!

Yeah. I think it was WCG 2010. Some good FvJ games from that WCG.

Thought so, I remember his voice. He's definitely a lot better since then.

If Rain wins his bracket, he will go on to play First.

Bad day for elephants.

Not for Flash and Rain though. Honestly, even though I'm a Kespa fan, I like seeing things like this. It seems pretty even and I'm sure Soulkey and SoO will pull out some wins.

Rain hadnt really tough opponents so far in open bracket.
Flash was the only one winning in the groups. The 3 Kespa zergs lost. (all to inferior opponents IMO)

That's true but the open bracket is still the open bracket, Rain won possibly without knowing ANY of those players which, IMO, is just as difficult as facing a group of opponents you've studied before.

I think the Kespa zergs (minus hyvaa because I didn't see that game) who did lose need to study the game a little more as their mechanics put them in good position early and early-mid game. Unfortunately, their choice of engagements and positioning were less than stellar going past that point which cost them each of their matches.

Still, I can't speak for SoO because minus the last BW OSL, he hasn't really had a tournament reputation of sort but I believe that Soulkey has it in him to pull out of his group. Soulkey is extremely strong in non-mirror matchups and still looked in that ZvZ.

Scarlett beating Bomber was great though. I didn't get to see the games but she pulled out a big win towards solidifying her reputation as being essentially Korean level.

I'm not trying to pull anything here, just wondering, were you ever a BW fan? Note, I believe that SC2 and BW are different games and that evidence has mounted toward this fact.

Anyway, as for bears, all of the ones I want to do well (minus Life) are all in the open bracket. None of the foreigners I like are playing in this MLG. Scarlett is winning me over though.

My post was not targeted towards you.

I just get sick of morons who think all the kespa players

are superior to others (insert foreigners+esf players)

Interesting. Would have thought that SoulKey wins this.

So I guess it's RevivaL up against TaeJa tomorrow (if he beats the Open Bracket entry).

well if liquipedia is right about which group the open bracket goes to, TaeJa shouldnt get anyone too tough
Minigun, Caliber, JookTo, Golden is his section

I still wonder who the hell gets Rain. That's going to be so depressing for the player he's gonna be up against.

IMFirst

Oh wow. First is a strong player. I'm not sure he can beat Rain though.

Less than 300 pages for Day 1 of a hyped to shit MLG. This is rare.
Remember not only to say the right thing in the right place, but far more difficult still, to leave unsaid the wrong thing at the tempting moment.

Right, sorry if I seemed a little defensive. And the matchfixing was a sad day in esports indeed.

Anyway, Polt and MC are in the open bracket, correct? I wonder how they're doing. I hope they make it out.

Aside from Flash none of these players are Elephants. Elephant is not code for KeSPA player. The Elephant article was specifically about comparing KeSPA players to other KeSPA players like Zergbong, Iron and MVP. The 'Elephant in the room' article was saying that the people dominating StarCraft 2 were themselves dominated in Brood War, and when those players switched over, they would make previous SC2 look like a joke. by.Sun, Soulkey, Roro, hyvaa, an SKTZerg... these were not players who dominated Brood War. They are not Elephants.
I bear this sig to commemorate the loss of the team icon that commemorated Oversky's 2008-2009 Proleague Round 1 performance.

I'm guessing it's gonna be Rain versus Suppy in the last match of that bracket. Should be interesting. Even if I'm a big fan of Suppy, I'm hoping Rain wins.
