There's loads of tournaments now. This one is online, a lot of effort to qualify for unless you get lucky and win your first qualifier and not for that much money unless you finish top two. So I can see why some players with busy schedules would chose to focus on other events.

As of now, Sting is the only 100% qualified terran, plus Select and Hack are above the points cutoff for now. Good thing two of the three seeds are Terran I guess (Thorzain and Kas) xD thanks for the correction, dunno why I mentioned MVP, meant to say ThorZain. I think I was subconsciously thinking of MVP being seeded into OSL, not TSL.

All them up&coming players in NA... I haven't heard of anyone new, at least when it comes to qualifying/tournament results. And it seems like everytime there is one in MLG it's almost certainly no one legit or a one-timer like YaTa, Goswser, Hawk, Wbc, TriMaster and the list goes on...

Select is someone who picks a build and sticks to it every single game. I remember he used to do 2rax concussive shell opening against protoss every game whether his opponent already knew about it or not. For some reason, he happened pick a cheese this time around. 1. Proxy 2rax 2. If the first bunker-in attempt failed, make more marines and attack again. 3. If the raxes are forced to lift off and go back home, then wall off and go double expo. Basically early aggression cheesed followed up by econ cheese. I'm not sure if he's been practicing doing this against something like 10pool though.

MVP's also better than JonnyRecco, Mycerion, Lalush and Bischu despite not playing in the qualifiers. So is Stephano and many others who clearly aren't making a real effort to qualify but most likely would qualify if they tried.

I was objecting to your statement he would qualify by points. He might have but more likely would not considering the luck factor and the fact that better players are not able to comfortably do it. Also I doubt that in his current , though improving, form he is clearly better than those players you mentioned.

Well yeah you might be right but there are some new players popping up on the ladder like on EU server. Who knows they might just want to participate in the TSL quali? me myself and i perhaps want's to try this out if i have the time to play thru the entire tournament or today i was gonna play but my internet died so It's a great opportunity for new players for sure and i think everyone trying to get their names out should try this quali and get pts for TSL main tournament.

I'd say making it through the MLG qualifiers for the Arena's twice and finishing 4th at WCS USA is better than anything those four players have done in the entire career's. Idra's has a shitty 2012, but he's still done better than those players ever have.

MVP and Stephano are clearly on a completely different level than Idra and the others mentioned. Idra is not. Its just your own assumption that Idra is better than certain players you mentioned. It is really pointless to claim Idra would win stuff he doesnt even particpate in, especially as he is someone who has a remarkable history of performing MUCH worse than expected.

The guy was suggesting you couldn't know someone was better without them playing in the same tournament. Which is a really ridiculous thing to say because some players (like Mvp and Stephano) are clearly better than the four he listed. 2. I never said Idra would win a qualifier, I said he would get through on points if he played in all the qualifiers. 3. Despite him repeatedly losing to 'worse' players than himself, Idra this year has still posted better results than any of those four players ever have with his 4th in WCS USA and qualifying for two MLG Arena's through the NA qualifier.

Well this is highly discussable with how weak the US scene really is atm. Bischu made his way through the swedish wcs qualifier at 2nd place I think. So that alone is worth more than Idra has done this year.

I guess because Darkforce and Hasuobs are so dominant in the list and Socke is at least their level if not higher, Anyways, Sheth and Golden still need to fight for their spot in the TSL 4 and I hope they manage to do it somehow, it would be a bad omen for the NA scene if only Select was the one to qualify for TSL.
