Artosis is on a flight back to Korea from the UK.

Khaldor and Moletrap are there though.

leveltory is pretty decent, although i expect it to be a bit slower than daily esports. also daily esports is in kr, so a bit harder to follow brackets that way.

Agreed. The amount of OGN/Kespa bashing over these preliminaries is getting annoying. Hopefully there is someone down there that can provide updates.

Stream ALL THE THINGS.
The last time GOM streamed qualifiers it was really lackluster and most players didn't even agree to have their matches streamed but now all of a sudden it's an outrage that OGN doesn't stream this.

Insane amount of games and no information about any kind of stream being online for this = "I expected streams, OGN fucked up".

Well, OGN usually streams at least some games from prelims, hence the expectations that there'd be some sort of stream. Also, there's a lot of hype because it's OSL, and it's their "first appearance" in the SC2 scene/big debut...so it's a really lackluster debut when you start off with an opaque qualifier where nobody has an idea what's going on and can't watch the goings down.

Also, have you seen the player pool? This thing is HUGE. It is pretty much every code A/code S player + foreigner player in Korea. Anywhere else you'd have an outrage with that level of competition and no coverage.

They always stream their own players' qualifiers. These groups are bigger by a couple hundred players and also full of random signups. The prestige simply isn't there in a huge set of offline qualifiers.

Moreover, because the groups are so much bigger, the Sindorim venue really isn't set up for broadcasting. It's across the river and I don't even know if GOM has streamed from there. OGN fits all their usual prelims/etc. (i.e. the BW OSL prelims) at Yongsan, which is where their fucking studio is. There are streams of BW prelims because those are professionally licensed players and those prelims take place in a stadium that's logistically capable of supporting a TV broadcast. Fuck, people.

Some of you need to stop saying they don't give a shit. Prelims are a huge and messy operation. Some of my fondest memories are just waiting for updates to see if players I follow got through whatever tournament. It's not your place to be insulted that they don't have a stream.

OGN's casters might not even have time to fit this into their rotation, and they definitely can't fit it on TV with PL happening later. This isn't a time to get upset. If you've got a horse in this, it's time to see how he does.

Edit: Really, this is NOWHERE CLOSE to the OSL proper, which is traditionally thought of as when there are around 16 players left in the tournament, after real matchups have been broadcast for like a month. Not just a batch of hundreds of random players mixed together while they sift out the finest talent.

also the broadcast wold conflict with proleague today....

That's a good point, so I'm glad I made it in the post you quoted.

both are reliable, leveltory is updated by people on scene and DES is a legit Esports news site...

I think that OGN has not bothered to start the Proleague English cast simply because there isn't enough interest in Proleague. On opening day when Proleague was just started, a there were a few foreign fans willing to watch it because it was all day and it was the official debut of many BW players into SC2. After people saw that a lot of the BW players simply weren't that good at SC2, I think a lot of the foreign community lost interest. Even when you see the stream in studio, most of the time unless it is two really popular teams (KT, SKT, CJ), the studio will basically be empty.

I can't say I'm not that surprised that they haven't bothered to show any of the games from this qualifier. I think the fans of BW who have only seen SC2 games through Proleague will probably be shocked when they see how much better at the game the current SC2 pros are from the Kespa players.

Here's to hoping Kespa players can actually hold their own against them by September...

Oh, yeah. I wasn't implying they were crooked. Just with qualifiers and not-streamed things then tends to be occasional miscommunications/mistakes or odd slumps in result updating.

Not to hate on July but if he couldn't handle gsl (he was doing baneling busts every game), how is he expecting to make it through these incredibly stacked brackets?

So then why did he go? You usually go to qualifiers with the goal of making it through...
