Polt is taking quite an advantage 11min in. Currently finishing 1/1 and has a third on the way. SaSe very inefficient in the last engagement with nothing to fall back on.

Normally a GSL. Nonetheless they recognize MKP even though he always failed to win a GSL. Go figure :/

MKP has 3 GSL silvers. I don't think it's unreasonable to recognize MKP as a phenomenal player. I think Stephano is a fantastic player. Top 3? Probably not. I'd put DRG and Nestea above him but I suppose a convincing argument could be made for Stephano being number 3. He needs to make Ro8 to be legit, Ro4 to be top 3 zerg (in Code S.

By that argument a player who never goes to Korea is never able to be a top player. That's retarded.

No it isn't? You have to compete with the best to considered the best.

The best compete on the international stage. Korea isn't the international stage.

Horrible logic. Nestea for the longest time refrained from competing on the 'international stage'. In fact maybe he's only been to a couple 'international stage' events to this day. Yet without a doubt he's among the very best, up there near MVP.

moreover most reasonable people have considered for a long time the GSL to be the tip-top level of SC2 competition. It's in Korea.

That is like saying the Super Bowl champion is not the best football team in the world because it was not an international competition.

To be fair, that isn't true. He does compete with the best, just not in Korea, so far.

Stephano competes with (and beats) code S players regularly. Just not in the GSL.

But playing vs Code S players in tournaments outside the GSL is so much different, you prepare for a week for a particular GSL match but with any other tournament like MLG you don't - you're just playing game after game going through the bracket.

Wrong.

Korea is the only place where the best of the best play.

Nice timing with KESPA playing in the US 12 hours ago.

The Kespa players aren´t the best yet. They still need a bit of time to catch up with GSL and top european players.

Stephano competes with (and beats) code S players regularly. Just not in the GSL.

And GSL players would fair much better against him in Code S because Stephano has very predictable play

I agree that Stephano does need to mix in more allins and different styles, just to put his opponents on edge a bit more. It doesn't hurt him against Toss because he just has that matchup totally worked out but Terran is a different thing.
