Ace got an insta GG out of DRG with it in Code A this season, HerO did it to beat Leenock.

Basically a free win if you get in, don't even need to execute it flawlessly or anything.

I don't get it, its already a known fact that you pull workers and target down the sentries to defend against it, i don't get why zergs still lose to it.

Stalkers get warped in the moment the sentries are dropped, no way drones can reach them.

Well... 2/1 upgrade advantage (2-2 vs 0-1), the correct AoE counter (ghost vs templar) and you cannot break a protoss if the toss defends well.

Puzzle had excellent templar micro, no doubt. Still, this level of micro is what is required from each Terran in GM. Compare that to Ganzi sitting on top of the natural ramp on CK, with a nice concave with ghosts and vikings and Vines just amoves through and wins.

Harrier kept trying to end the game, but played pretty sloppy. I mean, no concussive shells, super late 2-2 (in comparison to his 1-1), no fourth, kept having zealots attack his third (go clean up the pylon??), kept getting ghosts fedback... One amazing move doesn't win the game unfortunately.


I don't deny, that Harrier's control was sloppy and he was indecisive. Puzzle defended really really well as he is known for it. That's why I compared the flipside, where a protoss showed even worse control and still just rolled through.

Also there was a carpet EMP when Puzzle killed the sensor tower.. that should have been the moment where Puzzle got crushed, but 2ish collossi were enough to melt everything. Compare that to a terran getting caught out and eats 2 storms...

But when you are so marine heavy Colossi are super good. 2 Colossus are enough to kill a stimmed marine (that hasn't been healed) in one shot, thus why they are so effective. Needed to pull back and mass up vikings at that point. Better than trying to rush in and end the game


He could have killed the 3rd nexus and run, but his viking production would have been too slow to stop the advancing protoss army. Also he was committed due to no 4th.

No doubt there were mistakes and no doubt that Puzzle defended very well. Hell, which coach is so crazy to send out a Terran vs Puzzle and pick cloud kindom?

Then again, all I"m saying is that I have seen worse plays by protoss that ended in rolling through terrans.

No arguments here, Terran in general are really struggling vs the colossus switch. Not sure what the answer is, but I'm sure there is one!


I'd imagine in a perfect world, T can get a bit ahead in econ with faster 3rd base and slowly move toward a late game with tons of ocs, sacced most scvs, 3 reactored starports (or 4) along with a ton of barracks and tons of scanning provided by the mass oc. With the extra supply from sacced scvs you have enough supply to overrmake vikings (i.e if you see 5 collusi, get 20 vikings and wipe out 2/3 before fight). If it get's split map vs split map and you're still on bio you probably lose but maybe BC switch and not have all your BC vortex T_T.



If you have that big of a lead that you can afford to hedge your bet like that then it wont reach the late game anyway unless you do that. The problem seems to be identifying the switch in time because you fight a collosus army and a templar army with entirely different comps and if you hedge your bet on one in mid. So, the problem is that it needs to be spotted very early in so what terrans need to do is figure out a way to spot the robo bay in time and get there army comp switched (which isnt that hard if you have time since production facilities arent that different.


I was never under the impression spotting the Toss early-midgame tech was that hard. I.e. you can tell if they're going collusi first or templar first. The difficult parts are when they're transitioning into the other (i.e. Parting goes 2collusi into templar, how to plan that he's only going to get two collusi? Make 14 vikings vs 2 collusi and his templar army rolls you. What if you scan but Parting is hiding his collusi after two to fool you? But then I guess you'd notice lack of templar, unless Parting got super gosu and just always hid his tech after 2 collusi.

My scenario was supposed to be late game when you're both nearing max and it's getting to the point where it's hard to engage so it's just a lot of posturing around, but ofc it's just hypothetical.

And yeaaaaaaa EG FIGHTING. SUPER STUPID WARP PRISM DROP NEVER MADE ME SO HAPPY.


Im not talking about which you are spotting first. Im talking about spotting the transition into both. If you dont spot it before 2 collosus with range are out you are pretty much dead because even with triple reactor starport for mass medivac style, you arent going to be able to get out all the units you need fast enough.

Toss learnt that you can just lift Sentries back into the warp prism and they're untouchable till they need to forcefield the ramp again =p

Oh...oh dear. LOL, well the protosses in my master league don't know that.
