This is rather an inside joke, that apparently many new people don't get and get annoyed when it should rather make them feel very well. EU guys really should be much happier with the USA joke than US guys, in fact EU guys made it that popular. And when you see US guys who actually play along, instead of being offended by it, that's even funnier. Pretty sure people were banned for protoss 1a2a3a jokes quite a lot back in the days. I don't mind it though.  That was also a balance whine, though.
Well sort of I guess. But the attitude towards balance whine wasn't quite the same before sc2, people realized that 1a2a3a didn't apply for high levels of play.

I'm not an MVP fan at all (I actually <3 Ryung), but even I don't want to see that. He really was a great player and I don't think that game is representative of his skills, would be very sad if his wrist issues leads to games like that becoming the norm instead of an anomaly.
