All weekend, and the weeks prior to the event people have been saying that this is one of, if not the toughest tournament we have seen. And now that 2 players have fought tooth and nail to get to the finals they get shit on. These players deserve more respect from us. Quit shitting on the two best players at this tourney.

he didn't come through the Open Bracket. If you are going to rage you should know what you are talking about.

Yeah he did...

Okay so I know that foreign tournaments say that "have to have" korean invites to get the viewership...but really has anyone tried a foreigner only tournament with a decently big prize pool (50k or more?) Because I mean if we don't have our own infrastructure we will never compete with them really...and if no one has tried it why not???

I'm new to the scene sorry if this is noob thing to say.

Anyone discounting the finals because Alive and Squirtle are in them are batshit insane. Look at the championship bracket alone. This has been the most difficult foreign event ever. The only names it needed were like DRG and Genius to make it literally be like an entire code S season in 3 days. These two players didn't get easy brackets; their wasn't an easy bracket.

The games will probably be all the better for not being two superstars in the finals, most finals that are hyped end up sucking, with the unexpected ones being far more epic.

Beating Bomber, MMA, MKP and Nestea isn't enough of a storyline for you? o_0

Doesn't compare to what some other finalists would be. Like NesTea coming out of a slump and proving himself, MKP having the greatest run of anyone in SC2 (although he may still qualify for that), Stephano pwning Koreans, or even MMA flying under the radar until he reminds us he's one of the best Terrans in the world. Consider the greatest matchup that could have happened: NesTea v. MKP in a rematch of GSL open season 2.

I think Alive v. Squirtle was literally the one possible matchup with the least amount of noteworthy story/backstory/drama.

You realize that Squirtle beat pretty much all Koreans, and most of them are Code A-S players?

Just one more step to take. I believe. What a fairytale run this would be for Squirtle.

So damn impressive, hope he goes far in Code S.

I think he has a very favorable group. His group consists of MMA, Leenock, and NaDa. We know he can beat MMA, most likely can beat Leenock, and has a good shot at beating NaDa. Wouldnt be surprised to see Squirtle win the group

Finally Nestea got knocked out, he was by far the most undeserving player to still be in the tournament.

LOL.. nestea is a proven champion, he aced his group and played well all the way until he met up with alive.

It was weird that Nestea lost to Alive anyways, considering how he demolished him earlier. I don't want to be one of the people who rely on excuses but he had spoken about being tired before the match, so this three day weekend tournament might be a weakness of his. Otherwise he seemed really fearsome, far from undeserving to be in this tournament, and is definitely one of the best zergs in the world.

No he didn't. He had a seed in the championship bracket. He went through pool play.

I think it is great that we have a couple relatively unknowns battling it out... Considering they took out the big names to get there...

Sad to see Nestea go out like that when I wanted him to win, but aLive vs Squirtle is kind of a good final since no one would've ever called it at the start and both of them showed great promise recently. One of them will break out big time, the other guy will face the same fate as Lucky after last IPL. Few people will acknowledge how good he played/is if he doesn't get outstanding results in Code S as well.

I'm happy for them because almost no one here wanted them to win but they don't care and keep on winning and playing good games.

You're right... we shouldn't be like this

Seriously... DRG, MMA, etc. were unknowns before too. Doesn't make sense for people to ignore the Finals now because the two players playing aren't known yet.

I remember tastosis and a lot of people making fun of Nestea pre-season 2 GSL, Also they made fun of lots of other amazing players before they became famous.
So yea I agree

Yeah, like MC. "dirty cheesy two base all-inner! guess what it's not working so well, now you're going to code b!"
"o shit turns out the boss toss kratos toss is pretty awesome!"

it's interesting to note how much casters hype and bias against players based on their own likes, and how much impact it can have on peoples' images.

I don't care about their names, from what I've seen in this tournament they don't deserve the finals.

I've literally watched Squirtle do the same exact 2base 3colossi all in three times in a row and crush Terrans all three times.

Not exactly Squirtle's fault that those Terrans didn't exactly stop him.

Good for him that he won, doesn't make him an interesting player to watch though. I'm hoping for a little better stuff in the finals.

I've actually enjoyed most of Squirtle's games because they all involved some kind of action rather then boring macro games where people just sit in their bases.

Aside from that, Squirtle has played phenomenally and deserves to be in the finals here. People need to stop complaining because the usual suspects didn't make the finals.

Who doesn't like a good underdog story? Nestea/zerg fanboys apparently.

Squirtle and Alive are NOT unknown player. At least for people watching GSL and GSTL.

I'm pretty excited for the finals... but if aLive doesn't have something different to try against Squirtle's PvT I may quickly become disappointed.

I can't wait for the Nestea commercial featuring Nestea pouring Nestea all over himself with wind blowing in his hair and the sun gleaming off his soaking wet skin.

Yes, but his name isn't MMA, MKP, or nestea so it doesn't matter.
