I hope the results dont get leaked this time. That really killed season 1 for me.

Well this is it. Put up or shut up time for the non-Korean communtiy, for both the players and us the viewers. Every major tournament after TSL3 has been dominated by players from the Korean scene, and since then there's been a lot of talk about the need for foreigner-only tournaments. IPL is the biggest tournament with no Koreans playing left. The onus is now on us to show that tournaments don't need Koreans to pull in lots of viewers and that we can be entertained even if the games aren't at the absolute highest level. Of course the second part of the previous sentence can't happen unless the progamers themselves give us a show worth cheering for. IPL1 games were pretty boring overall except for the Idra-Kiwikaki-Select games. I have no doubt this time around they will be much better.

It makes perfect sense to not allow Koreans living in Korea since there are two separate communities, one for Koreans and one for foreigners. I would have allowed notable foreigners living in Asia to compete (Huk, Sen, and Jinro in particular) since they're part of the community but they might have declined due to latency and scheduling anyway.

I actually think that is wrong, to exclude people for an arbitrary reason of, "They're not a part of our community". A player like MC has made a huge effort learn English and communicate with the foreign community, as well as taken the time to attend numerous foreign events.

I think removing regions for logistical reasons makes much more sense for now, no player outside of EU and NA is allowed to compete, regardless of their nationality, that's a logistical and regional restriction. Your reasoning seems really bizarre and exclusive for no particular reason, there are plenty of foreign players who don't interact with the community at all, and there are a few Korean players who make quite an effort to interact with the foreign community, be it on twitter, interviews or by streaming.

I'm pretty sure they said they were expanding it to asia next season. And it's pretty undeniable that it would get more viewers with players like MC or boxer...especially if they're vsing idra

Yeah, I know... They've said that they plan to expand slowly a number of times and I think that's fine.

I was responding to the absurd idea that Koreans should be excluded because "they're not a part of the foreign community", that's such an arbitrary requirement to impose.

I'm super duper excited for this! I love the production quality of the IPL.

One question though... do you guys plan on doing something more to prevent leaked results for season 3? Season 2 was better than 1 so far, but about a month ago I stumbled upon the results of the first few rounds. Are guest/fake accounts not possible?

I'm still really hoping to find out whether or not they have a better solution in mind.

As far as I can tell for the games played, all they did this season was use cloaked maps instead of regular ones. However in the match history you can still see who played who and the order in which they played, so it is still very easy to figure out the results.

I don't know about the later rounds, but at least the first 2-3 were played about a month ago and the results are known.

I'm gonna root for Idra and Vibe. Other than that I don't care too much, I just hope we get good games.

How do you see who played who on a cloaked map? You don't see the stats screen or is there some other way of checking?

You can mouse over the magnifying glass icon in the match history list and the two player names will pop up.
The only reason i bring up the spoiling is because it was one of the only flaws that came up for the IPL in season 1. If they fixed it along with a few other things the league would be near perfect, but there doesn't seem to be too much of an improvement from last season.

Good old Idra/Drewbie rivalry. That should be fun, always hilarious when Drewbie manages to win.

I'm pretty sure the results are not known. They played on cloaked maps so it'd be impossible to see from looking at match histories. If the players themselves leaked the results.... that's the only way I could see.

You know what's awesome? Knowing that when that clock reaches zero there will for sure be a game ready to go. No delays, no setting up keyboards, no installing drivers etc etc. I guess that's the perk of playing the games in advance XD

I explained this a few posts up. You can still figure out most of the results based on match history, even with cloaked maps.
