I think djWheat brings nice professionalism to the casting here at DC, he's got nice flow of bringing you into the game, and passes the commentating off with good questions to Day9 the type of commentating I like to hear. I'm not a big fan of JP, I feel like he's better at being a post-game interviewer or something along those lines, maybe even a 3rd commentator which I think will finally come to SC2 soon. Just take a look at the GSL Korean commentators.

What you guys think?

Sometimes they say utterly ridiculous things. For example: qxc V Sen match - on metalopolis I believe - qxc was running some helions through Sen's natural. Sen just kept his drones mining and Wheat said "excellent drone control by Sen, avoided the helions" and all I thought was "what?..."

Sen microed a few wounded drones around his hatch which saved them. This is what he was talking about.

In what way is not preparing for a tournament map pool an excuse?

All the preparation in the world won't stop that map from being terrible for Zerg.

All the preparation in the world won't stop scrap station from being a great map for Zerg.

There is nothing at all wrong with 'looser pics next map', as long as the first map is a fair one (for example, metalopolis, as here).

I go back to my first point, if you are preparing for a tournament that includes maps your race suffers on - you should prepare for them, as it is highly likely you will be playing there next game if you win a game.

If you rule out Kulas as a free win for non-zerg, then you do the same for scrap - and you have a 'fair' Bo1 on Metal that Nazgul won anyway...so, same result.

When no tournament uses those maps anymore. IdrA would have to go out of his way to find a practice partner for each race and then play KR and DO.

Stop complaining. MLG DC had those maps too.

MLG doesn't change the map pool from the start of THEIR season, regardless of what Blizz ladder does.

Too bad they couldn't change the game itself back to three range roach and barracks without depot. Those maps were removed for a reason.

And some of the commentary on Protoss players especially makes it really clear to me that they fail to understand the basics of P BO's and decision making etc.

That said, it's not important. Wheat has a good energetic style which I enjoy far more than Artosis and than Tasteless. Even though he obviously understands less than those two, he's a lot more entertaining. And providing entertainment is the commentator's job imo. I can see what's actually happening myself. It's why I enjoy Korean commentators over others. I don't understand a word they're saying, but the excitement in their voice is all I need.

All English commentators are sub-par compared to Klazart however.

Are you serious? Klazart? He's exciting but his screaming gets kinda annoying. But each to their own I guess.

Klazart was a fantastic commentator

Baneling dance at the end resembles main character's spinning totem, set to the same music as in the scene being referenced.

How could you not know about MLG Dallas?

Fair question. I haven't been following the scene that closely except for the GSL. There also seems to be a lot of tournaments so I've been too lazy to get an overview over the most 'important' ones if u will.

Listening to the State of the Podcast will keep you up to date with all the important things happening in the community. Only takes 1-2 hours per week and its really great entertainment too with day9, incontrol, tyler and JP.

And to add on that, since his unit mix was only gateway units, close positions or far positions, no difference when the units come streaming out of a proxy pylon that can be placed anywhere.

He probably eliminated Steppes, which would've been an even faster defeat if he was rushed.

Please link me to your posts in the MLG DC live report threads where you were complaining about this huge injustice towards Idra.

At the end of the video there was INCEPTION movie soundtrack and footage of a baneling spinning around like a top. (just like the ending of inception where leonardo spins his totem and it focuses on it as the screen fades into credits)
