In Asian cultures children usually pay deep respect for their parents for their hard work and effort bringing us up. So its usually a nice gesture to pay back some of the money they had used to bring them up. Take for example a typical Asian family. Some parents put their homes on mortgage and go in debt just to ensure their children can get a higher education to have a better life.
