A Zerg destroyed arguably one of the strongest terrans in the world in this age of starcraft where zergs everywhere cowers in fear of the evil Terrans and the hideous Protosses. This GSL is the victory of David over Goliath, in literally biblical proportions. To all Terrans: You may have your banshees, your Thors, your mules, and your #$%^ marauders, but at the end of the day, these are no compensation for a huge discrepency in skill. Never underestimate the determination of a cornered zerg!

It just seems weird they would give 27k - 85k they earn to their parents. Esp at their age. Wondering just what custom it is or whatever. It seems pretty ridiculous to me, is it normal to give all your earnings to parents in korea? In Asian cultures children usually pay deep respect for their parents for their hard work and effort bringing us up. So its usually a nice gesture to pay back some of the money they had used to bring them up. Take for example a typical Asian family. Some parents put their homes on mortgage and go in debt just to ensure their children can get a higher education to have a better life. And when that better life comes, it is pretty much incumbent to return the favor. Source: Im asian

Hardly the case. I can see why you might think that (hell, I had trouble understanding how it worked at first), but it's not a case of "Everything I ever gain will go to my parents". Eveyrone just takes care of everyone in their family there, if the dad wins the lottery he won't use it all for himself, even if his children moved out. Same for the children.

Flash gives all his winnings to his parents (pretty dumb for a genius), but why do older players like cool/rainbow give all their winnings to their parents? Seems kind of bad considering how hard it will be to turn a lot of this pro gaming experience into money later. its not giving to have them spend it. its for them to act as custodians. he doesnt worry that his parents will squander it. His parents will use it wisely for their son's good. that's the asian way. Cool being very filial and traditional. good guy ![]()

It's not uncommon for children to like, let their parents live in their houses or keep staying with their parents in their 20's until they actually have a home. Contrast where in the US you live in crapass dorms and apartments eating cheap ramen from college until your late 20's if you weren't born middle-upper class. Because living home with your parents is some sort of massive mark of shame and wasting money on an apartment is more "honorable". Wrong Asian in general are closer to their families then let say... other race. It a cutural thing to have a tight knit relationship with your families.
