Idra deserves massive respect for his rank, as well as taking down Korean players and not sticking to beating the crap out of the foreigners (which he could easily, easily do) - he is definitely the most skilled foreigner ever, the most accomplished since Grrr, and his 1000 point difference from #2 is a testament to just how much better he is than the rest of the field. Sure, some people might take him out in a single game or even a series, but the ladder is simple enough to read. There is no competition.

Mamon's 700 games is sickening. It's incomprehensible. It's Cartman-in-the-WoW-episode level of insanity. It's dedication, fierce grinding, and batshit crazy. It's Jaedong preparing for MSL, OSL, and Proleague at once. It's David Beckham able to overcome his limitations by outpracticing any football player in the world. It's Kevin Garnett chasing that first ring. It's one of those qualities that is as impressive and important as talent, if not more so. The proper response to this can be phrased in three words: shock and awe.

But if Mamon's record is about shock and awe, Yosh's streak is shock and awesome. I can't find words to describe how this sets my brain reeling. This is beyond illogical. Picking 57 random BAD players, one of them is supposed to cheese and win. If all of those players had a 1.3% chance of winning (an approximate difference of 660 on Elo rank, a difference greater than the best SC pro of all times in his top form vs the worst rated pro in his worst form), odds would be against that streak. This is beyond insane. A sane person should have a hard time coming to terms with the fact that this actually happened. This is a sick, sick world in which things like this can happen.
Friendship is like peeing yourself. Anyone can see it, but only you get that warm feeling.

he hasn't accomplished anything in korea... his accomplishment in the foreign scene is impressive but hes a korean progamer. i mean mondragon's dominance in foreign scene is equally if not more impressive considering mondragon isn't in korea.

I am one of those guys that will probably never acknowledge idra.. Ok, hes the best foreigner atm, but thats to be expected since he is long time in korea. I think idra doesnt have what it takes to be a great starcraft player and i think he will never be able to play proleague matches on regular basis.
He never adapts, plays the same s*it again and again and i have never been amazed by any of his matches (and i have seen many of them). It seems to me as idra is not smart enough for sc. I hope ret will stay in korea and shows that he is much better starcraft player, althought it may be impossible to beat the motivation and crazyness of koreans.
My vote goes to yosh, seconded my mamon (hope you will own soon with your crazy motivation )-> go to korea :D

i think more people have achieved A+ than 57-0, thats like saying iloveoov's streak is just a variance that a lot of top tvzers can achieve... or jaedong's zvz streak is just a variance.

It's still very impressive but you can't argue against the fact that it's just variance.

using that logic couldn't you say idra got to A+ through variance?

First foreigner A+ is obviously the best. Yosh's streak is amazing, but he's not the only foreigner capable of such a streak late season.

It's crazy that yosh is apparently 29-0 on destination and 22-0 on python, while 48-37 on HBR. He's only lost 3 times outside of HBR.

Mamon has played 700 games in 20 days. 35 games a day. Considering he's not a progamer, and that his game time average doesn't seem to be especially low (at the very least I'd say 6 hours of actual in-game time a day), this is insane.

haha I think anyone might be stretching it. The dedication it requires to do that is insane. Lets say he averaged 15 minutes a game. that is a 175 hours of GAMING alone, not even searching for games. This is even before the three weeks is up, so I would say hes probably going to get at least 100 more games in T_T

yes you could, which is why that logic is terrible.

IdrA getting A+ is certainly impressive skill-wise, but going 57-0 is a crazy combination of skill, performing under pressure (If I was 30-0 or 40-0 I would start to get nervous about my first loss), and luck, and gets my vote.

Disheartening to see people impressed by Yosh's 57-0 streak over IdrA's A+. If it was anyone but IdrA this poll would be ridiculously one-sided.

This is my order:

1) Morrow at #2 because NO ONE and I MEAN NO ONE would have guessed that. He has held onto it for some time.

2) Yosh: old school master of mech goes 57-0. Raw talent, check. Top 48, check. But, him going 57 and 0 to start off? So Yosh, what have you been doing lately?

3) Mamon playing 700 games. I knew someone would play close to 1000 games, but this old school player from Russia who keeps dropping in and out of the top 48? He doesn't even play Terran! Plus this guy hit the top 12 on more than one occasion. Another shocker.

4) IdrA +A. I expected some players to play around with A+ after seeing so many hit A- and A. I expected IdrA to be in the top 5. This isn't a big surprise at all.

5) Come on, everyone knows Ukraine has fucking solid players. I can name 7 off the top of my head. THIS SHOULDN'T SHOCK ANYONE WHO FOLLOWS THE CLAN LEAGUES AT ALL! -_-

He plays really allin-ish though, for example vs terran who FE he makes 12hatch pool gas and then nothing but lings after the first 12 drones and go for all-in attack. Still 700 games are impressive.
According to Reach, he is the fastest learner he has ever seen. He start bw only like 2/3 years ago. Infact, his bw history knowledge is so limited, he didn't even know what the map Guillotine was.

I gotta go with A+, especially with playing Koreans, but 700 games and 57-0 were also very impressive

Im gonna go with the 700 games played, didn't pick IdrA hitting A+ because he is after all receiving pro training... It would be sad if he didn't hit A+. Close second though, is definitely Yosh's streak.
Why would you ever choose failure, when success is an option.
