Wow, great background write up on SKT's Rain! I didn't know he was relatively knew to the Brood War scene (2010). I don't think he falls under the classic "elephant" category/description, since he's not one of the old guard, elite Brood War legends. I see him more as an up and comer. Imagine if he'd started with SC2 in 2010 instead of breaking into the Brood War pro scene?

But from another angle, he does represent the strength of Kespa and Brood War, since he proved himself as a top-tier Brood War pro in his two years, it seems. Not a legend on the level of Bisu, Flash, etc., but good enough to share the same bench as them and even earn team wins alongside them.

In other words, I'm now an SKT Rain fan, but still... tonight must be HerO's night. Liquid HWAITING!

Can we stop calling Rain an elephant? The elephant in the room argument was that the SC2 players wouldn't be able to hold up to the BW legends, and that because they weren't very good at BW, the competition was pathetic. Players like Flash, Jaedong and Bisu are elephants, Rain and Roro are not. Rain and Roro never achieved the championship wins or the same heights of Flash and Jaedong. They essentially are the MVP of the game, people who were just good in BW but end up being brilliantly intelligent in SC2. They aren't elephants because their BW win records weren't that incredible already. Just because a player is KeSPA doesn't mean that he is an elephant.
