![]() ![]() ![]() I wouldn't consider myself that involved with SC2, but this makes me sick to the stomach not that emotionally involved with SC2, but damn me if this isn't the biggest SC2 related blow to me to date. Liquid`Nazgul He loved being a part of Liquid, and was willing to stay with us for significantly less than other teams. However, the offer that he received wasn't just significant, it was potentially life-changing. I was actually thinking about something related the other day. Namely how much better it must be to be on Liquid compared to any other team. By far the biggest, most active and most involved community. One that is insanely supportive of the Liquid players. I can safely say that nothing comes close. Hell, at times it can even seem unfair to other teams. So yes, I know he loved Liquid and that he is fully aware of how much he owes Liquid, last but not least much of his popularity. Obviously having been active on TL for some 8 years or so (and there are quite a few people around here who have been active for longer than that) and staff for much of that time I love TL beyond reason. So before I am a fan of a specific player I am - with a few exceptions, Boxer being the most obvious one :p - first and foremost a fan of Liquid. And with that I became a fan of Huk. But that's only half the story, the other half is Huk himself. His race (my Life for Aiur!), his amazing play, his almost unrivaled dedication and his countless victories make up some of the other half. Huk will still be Huk without being on Liquid, but for me a part of Huk just died. That being said, I hold no ill feelings towards him whatsoever. Like Nazgul said, Huk loved being part of Liquid and I can only imagine how hard a decision his was for him. I hate his decision, but at the same time I respect it. I don't know how much he made or will make, nor is it any of my business, but from what I gather reading Nazgul's post it sounds like this will make him the SC2 player with currently the highest salary? No one ever knows how long one's career in competition might last, and on what level one might be able to perform in the future, not to mention we don't know what SC2's esports state might be further down the road. Huk is probably (?) putting education on hold for SC2 also, so in the end there's certainly nothing wrong with getting better paychecks out of it while it lasts. Other than the fact that he had won MLG I knew next to nothing of Huk when je joined Liquid. So huge props to Nazgul for getting him on the team in the first place, incredible eye for talent right there. Must suck so much for him right now, makes me feel bad ![]() Good luck, Huk. I became a huge fan of yours during your stay at Liquid. Maybe you'll be back here one day. Also, while I never really held any ill feelings towards EG and nothing shady happened here, right now I just want to punch and hate them. One of the stages of grief I suppose. | ||
